As often as I see see pros throwing just like your describing I’ve been saying it’s rounding and it works for them. I appreciate your explanation as to why it’s not. It makes sense and I couldn’t put my finger on it. I’ve had some of my longest shanks that way. It adds rto the distance of the arc and increased velocity I would think. But I’ve always been taught the shortest line between two points blah blah blah. Also you nailed my issue with the hyzer. I reach straight back for everything. Thanks man.

This is so wild, I was doing some spaghetti drills the other day and thought about how to use that to keep my disc on swing plane so I tried incorporating that idea with a slow x-step and instantly noticed a difference in power and hit point. Added 20 to 30 feet to my distance in one day of field work. It makes it easier for me to get better nose angle and keep my scapula protracted. I will try to get some throws on video this week to show you. Played a couple rounds throwing this way and got some par looks that were out of reach for me and hit some pretty tight lines. Still lots more work to do but overall works for me way better than the typical reach back and straight pull through.

I have been working on keeping my elbow on plane by avoiding T-rex arms when i throw.. and I have been working on swing plane by emphasizing that my hand has to take the longest route around my arm. No short cuts.

If your mental image is of staying on the hyzer plane demonstrated about 2:50 or so, (and that's been my image too, mostly) then how do you change or control elevation?

1 - just tilt the plane down in the rear and up on the target side. 2 - make your reachback an inch or so below the plane and your follow though and inch or so above Ive been doing 2 lately with good results, just allow your arm to drift off the plane slightly to make your desired launch angle
