This is a dangerous place to be, but what I do is I pray to GOD and tell Him exactly about my desensitization, pray for mercy and grace. I need You Lord and I can't do this alone, sometimes when You get tempted, it may almost feel like a necessity, like you can't focus on anything else. don't do it and trust GOD. Pray, tell him Father this is hard, but I won't do it because i trust You that not doing this is the right thing. Start by trusting GOD Just for a week, enduring whilst actively letting HIM know how it feels, Pray and take GOD on the Urges Journey with You. as Daniel said, work on growing Your Spiritual Self too, the stronger you get, the easier it will get to resist temptation. I’m confessing to you guys. I’ve been watching pornography these past couple weeks and right when I do it I regret it so much and pray, but as time goes on, I do it again and it’s just a cycle. One of the most incredible changes that occurred in my life when I was born again was my loss of interest in porn. I have literally not looked at porn or desired it for a so long. I had severe anxiety, depression, I was suicidal, addicted to alcohol and many other things including masterbation, porn and my marriage was on the rocks.. I was disgusted with myself and hated the sin but no matter how much i prayed and went to confession and repented nothing would change.. i couldn’t get back in a relationship with God, and lost all hope and stopped trying to get better. Than around a year ago my siblings and family members started getting delivered from their addictions and were testifying to me that Jesus still delivers today like He did in the bible.. I saw the change in them and that was enough for me to believe. The demons/spirits were cast out of me in Jesus name and I got freed from bondage of sin and addiction, Jesus healed my wounds from my past, fixed the marriage problems and I can’t be more grateful that Jesus is the same as He was in the bible and does everything now that He did than!

Brother, i would say you have Angels watching over you, and they intervene for you, and for Christ who loves you. I too had similar experiences; but not with porn, which i hate; rather, with any evil Thought! Especially overly sensual or violent thoughts, and something would intervene to distract me. Often it was my cat, Missy, jumping on me and "meowing" very loud. It took years but then i realized she worked with an Angel of God; indeed, she worked for God as my "spirit-guide," Isn't that wonderful! Miracles! When you have them in your life, it is a message of Love from above; REJOICE.!!!

I don't know if anyone is going to see this, but I'm a 21 year old and used to struggle in this area. When I became a christian I continued to watching porn until the lord one day spoke to me and said Roman 6:11 " Be dead to sin and alive in Christ". I didn't know what it meant at the time, but one day I was watching porn and after I was finished the lord spoke to me again. He told me that I was giving my authority to my feelings and reminded me to the time when Jesus was tempted in the desert. Then I realized that I was giving all my authority to my feelings and whenever temptation came I easily gave in. However, this is not who I am in christ who has overcome sin on the cross with his blood. Jesus overcame sin on the cross so that we may not walk in the power of sin, but in the power of christ because he overcame sin on the cross. Jesus was tempted in the desert physically and mentally, but knew who he was. He never said "You know what I'm hungry, I'll turn this rock into bread". NO! He never gave into any temptation because he knew who he was. The same should be for us Christians, sin no longer reigns in us and holds no power in us, but Christ alone. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." I sometimes struggle with procrastination and laziness as well, we all struggle in different areas. The laziness you are experiencing could possibly be a spiritual stronghold you are facing against. Prayer and the word of God is a weapon that can be used to defeat this. Reading the word not also allows you to have knoweldge and understanding, but can actually be used to grow in faith and be used as a weapon for spiritual warfare (sword of the spirit). Hebrews 4:12 - "For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."

Ever since God has had me get rid of the tempting images/songs I looked at/listened to, that, and with walking in the Spirit, I don't often feel the temptation anymore, and now when it comes, I never feel overwhelmed by it, and a HUGE part of it is I will no longer go on sites that have images I know will tempt me, such as Instagram, and I will no longer listen to sexualized music, nor watch movies that have sexually provocative scenes. And because my eyes aren't seeing lust-provoking images throughout the day, that seed of temptation which would usually get me every time, no longer exists. All this is thanks to Jesus Christ who has set me free! He will do the same for you so long as you keep fighting it, He will never give up on you. Stay strong in Jesus Christ, go deeper into the Word of God, the devil will try to stop you as much as he can, but do not let his lies dissuade you from reading the bible! Remember that the grace of God does not run out, do not EVER, let the enemy tell you otherwise. Every time you confess and repent your sins to Jesus Christ you are immediately made clean, made white as snow, washed by the blood of Jesus Christ, though the enemy, Satan, will try and make you believe otherwise. Persevere and don't be discouraged, keep on pursuing Jesus, keep on reading the Word, pray without cease! Pray against the lies of the enemy, pray for freedom from lust, Jesus is faithful, and He is the Chain-Breaker!

@kalvin, this is just a thought I had, but I feel like counting the days will constantly remind you about what it is your doing. Just living day by day, one day after the other with prayer and belief will have you just living your life without focusing on what it is you resisting. 1 + 1 = 2 and so on and so forth, eventually taking one day at a time without counting will just become 365 days at a time which is a habit that’s easy do you. I felt with the same problem kalvin, I’m not saying what I’m saying is right, it’s just a little something I do and thought I’d share with you. Remember that your spirit is willing and strong enough, but your body and humanity is weak and sinful, try praying for discipline and self control over your body.... It is very hard and de-motivating. However, all this does is remind us that we are human. It may also be a pointer that we are trying to go it alone in fighting the battle. We know Jesus died for us and that through grace God has forgiven our sins. So we have to accept God's love and grace, pick our selves up and carry on. I now refer to my struggles as my "thorn in the flesh". Like Paul, I have prayed so many times to God to take them away but He has not seen fit to do so. Instead I have to believe that I am to live dependent on His Grace. My ego doesn't like it but it's the truth. Every day I confess to God that I am a sinner and that I am powerless against sin and that I recognise Him as a higher power. I then ask Him to forgive my sins and to protect me against further sin. We are in this battle for life so we absolutely depend on God's grace to get us through. One of the reasons we use porn is because we are unhappy. Then we feel ashamed of our actions and become even more unhappy. This damages our self-esteem. We feel worse and so we turn again to porn for comfort. We absolutely need to break this cycle and the only way to do this is to confess to God and accept His forgiveness. God knows what we are like but He loved us so much, even whilst we were sinners, that He sent Jesus to die on a cross and pay for our sins. I confess my sin daily to God and totally believe He has forgiven me. This makes me feel good and gives me the strength to continue doing my best. Remember Jesus said we were to forgive seventy times seven (an infinite number of times). There is no limit on God's forgiveness. I will gladly pray for you Kalvin and Tshego Makuwa and especially for your peace of mind that God is forgiving your sins. Please pray for me too.

You are in a battle for your soul (we all are) and it has to be won in your mind. Ask God to help you stay focused on right thoughts. But don't get distracted. You need to keep your mind on living in a way that pleases God in every way, from your thoughts to your actions. If you realize that you are trapped and need to be delivered, knowing what you need to do goes together with prayers for your deliverance, because you must follow God's instructions to you in your situation. You must be willing to see what it feels like to say "No" to a desire of your flesh when you are being tempted, and see how the temptation goes away (James 1:12-15, 1 Corinthians 10:13). God's grace will help you to do that (Titus 2:11-14) and He will be with you in all those moments if your focus is on loving and pleasing Him above all and you trust that He will deliver you. It is important that what you regard as repentance is what God calls repentance in the Bible. You must sincerely regret having sinned against God, and come to the point of hearing and agreeing 100% with Jesus' message saying, "I do not condemn you, now go and don't sin anymore" (John 8:11). Your obedience as you choose to follow God's ways is key. That opens the door to receiving his forgiveness for your past sins (Romans 3:25), healing (Luke 5:31-32), freedom from sin/addictions, and the gift of *a new life* that you will live for God and no longer for the passing things of the world (Romans 6:4-7, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15). That is salvation. You just need to approach God the way He expects you to-with the right mindset: James 1:21-22 21 Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness [that's repentance], receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be doers of the word [that's faith, which implies obedience], and not only hearers, deluding your own selves. I used to struggle with this also, my addiction started at a very young age. I remember getting saved and falling back into it, l HAD NEVER FELT SO DIRTY IN MY LIFE. I remember deciding afterwards l had to stop, oh how impossible I thought it was. I know my struggle ended because of God the Holy Spirit. He’s my source of strength against it even till this very hour... alone l’m weak I’m as good as helplessly addicted. l know this because I’ve tried overcoming it with my own will power multiple times (Spoiler: l failed... drastically, multiple times) I will definitely pray for you my dear brothers and sisters🌹. If l could overcome it so can you😊

1 year clean. I realized that the temptations came in times of high stress. The few times I’ve been tempted, I just pause and tell God I love Him and I want my actions to reflect it. I tell Him, here take this sensation, help me. I don’t want to do it. I thank You, I love you. I want you instead of porn.. it works everytime. Flood my heart with love and it casts away the darkness

I started watching it when I was 11 and I stopped not long before my 18th birthday. I’ve been more then 2 months clean, it’s a struggle every day but you gotta pray and read the word and fire from it with everything you have, because we can’t do it on our own, we need God to help us. You are in a battle for your soul (we all are) and it has to be won in your mind. Ask God to help you stay focused on right thoughts. But don't get distracted. You need to keep your mind on living in a way that pleases God in every way, from your thoughts to your actions. If you realize that you are trapped and need to be delivered, knowing what you need to do goes together with prayers for your deliverance, because you must follow God's instructions to you in your situation. You must be willing to see what it feels like to say "No" to a desire of your flesh when you are being tempted, and see how the temptation goes away (James 1:12-15, 1 Corinthians 10:13). God's grace will help you to do that (Titus 2:11-14) and He will be with you in all those moments if your focus is on loving and pleasing Him above all and you trust that He will deliver you. Your obedience as you choose to follow God's ways opens the door to receiving his forgiveness for your past sins (Romans 3:25), healing (Luke 5:31-32), and the gift of *a new life* that you will live for God and no longer for sin/addictions and the passing things of the world (Romans 6:4-7, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15). You just need to approach God the way He expects you to-with the right mindset. James 1:21-22 21 Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness [that's repentance], receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be doers of the word [that's faith, which implies obedience], and not only hearers, deluding your own selves. James 4:7-8 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. This is always a good place to start drawing near to God: Psalm 119:11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. That will lead you to transformation by the power of God and freedom from sin. Peace to you!
