How To Stream Multiple Cameras on the internet Live For Free

This video demonstrates free software to switch and stream multiple cameras live to youtube or other online streamer. The equipment used to stream are 2 logitech webcams ~$100 1 laptop web cam, a 5 year old HP computer and free OBS software.

Very nice job! Very clear. The OBS software is very impressive but I've been having some problem with instability. I'm using 4 identical Microsoft Life Cams. Trying different USB ports (2.0, 3.0, front, back) I can sometimes get all 4 cameras to work at one time, but one or more will drop out entirely for no apparent reason. Seems very unpredictable. Any tips?

Thank you for the tutorial, very useful video, clear explanation. A couple of questions for you, what if the cameras we're talking about are 3 reflexes, the signal quality would be quite high, the first thing I thought is whether that is going to be heavy. What would you recommend for making a good streaming without any lag? Any external video device to buy or it's everything on the computer performance? How about the audio? I've seen a section for it on the bottom right side, is that manageable as well or do you suggest using an external mixer? (example with 2 mics and some music)

I have only experimented briefly using the free open broadcast software, Usually I use wirecast software and external devices to connect higher quality cameras. Here is a video showing the set up that I use for that software how to connect the cameras. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mISvnpWJp9x_iqs With that set up I usually run audio through the camera, though an external mixer would work too.

Great video Sterling Teaches ... have you tried streaming / recording multiple cameras (with OBS) with the QuckSync / NVenc option ticked? I noticed your CPU usage is about 12-15% even not in recording mode... which is a bit high ... I have QuickSync ticked when recording (only my desktop screen) which reduced the CPU usage from about 15 - 20% to 5-9%. Wonder if it works for multiple cameras. Nice vid

It is just one laptop with an extra monitor connected. The laptop has a built in webcam. That camera is connected. I don't know how to connect another computer to it.

I just was exploring the software, It is free, my recommendation is to download it test it and see if it works for what you want to do with it. Search youtube for more OBS or Open Broadcaster Software Tutorials, and it should show you how to do what you need to do.

When I was experimenting with the software, it didn't have a lag, but when I was screen recording, while experimenting with the software it had a lag, I just figured it was the screen recording putting extra strain on the processor. When I turned off screen recording it was find again. OBS is free, download it and see how it works on your system.

En esta video solo use webcams que no necesitabba cauturadora, solo usaba el USB. Y use una camera antiqua que conectaba por medio de firewire. Para conectar otra camera con OBS, no se. Talvez buscar magwell usb to 3.0 y ver si esta funciona con OBS.

I don't use DSLRs but If you can connect your DSLRs to the computer you should be able to stream. The DSLR would need to have a clean HDMI our or one without the on screen information. To get the signal onto a computer I use Black Magic Design's Mini Recorder(Mac) or Intesity Shuttle USB 3.0 (PC) There are other companies that sale converters, those are just the ones I have used. If you have 4 USB ports and 4 cameras (web cameras) that connect via USB it should work. I haven't tried it yet.

Magewell makes a USB device and they say it is compatible with OBS with both Windows and Mac. www.magewell.com/compatible-software I haven't tried it yet.

According to the up-to-date version 18.0.1, the "Streaming" tab under the Setting option can only point to only 1 streaming source (KZbin/Twitch)

If your laptop has enough USB Ports and it is strong enough to handle 4 streams it yes, you should be able to. (I don't know how powerful the laptop needs to be. If you have the laptop and the cameras I recommend trying it).

There are external Logitech USB web cams. The HP webcam is a built in webcam to the computer.
