Very innovative and industrious. Been doing this for over twenty years and never seen fence stretched with a 2 x 2 and a wood dowel. Of course some guys are harder on tools than others. Great video thanks for sharing the homeowner way of doing things.

Awesome Tip thanks! I have a small repair to do and didn't want to spend $40 on a fence puller bar for a one time use, your method will work great

Simple, cheap and effective. My new place has a lot of CL fence and I've already had to make-do with a fix. I'll make this tool and be better prepared for more. Thanks for a clear and easy to understand video.

Thank you. They wanted $75 just now at Home Depot for the steel version and did not want to pay that for something I’m only using a couple of times. Great job.

Thanks. I just made mine and it looks great. I was able to use 2 X 4 and some hooks and I had laying around so cost me nothing. Can't wait to use it tomorrow on some 350 feet.

Tree dropped in a storm next door, easier to remove from my side. They wanted to cut my chain link, but I just unhooked it at a post in the middle. Now I need to stretch it about 10"-12" to reattach. Sold my Fathers stretcher about 8 yrs ago, thinking I wouldn't need it since all the fence was up and in good condition. Thanks for a cheap stretcher so I can get my fence back in place.

Excellent. Another video had almost the same set up with the 2 by 4 and the hooks but he had it hooked at the end of what he was pulling. That threw me for a minute until you set your's back down the fence two or so feet so you have room to set the brackets and bolts. Great job. Thanks. Bill

Ingenious little doodad you made there. I suppose you could stretch even more if you just got two of those metal end doohickies and returned one after you're done. I felt the dowel's pain.

What is the material the "rod" that you ran through the fence made of, which the wooden stretcher then hooked onto? I was thinking of a piece of ReBar.

I totally give you credit for saving me money and something i did myself a fence stretch is $35-40 I spent $10 I used way bigger hooks ill show my vid response later

Would this technique also work on field fencing?
@keredeht11 жыл бұрын
Works great, I just used a piece of rebar cut to 4' and hooked the ratchet up to the middle of that, no need for hooks/wood or anything else. I suggest using a decent quality ratchet strap, not a cheapo $5 one...
@misteroktober12 жыл бұрын
I used a wood dowel rod. I suppose rebar would work if it wasn't too big to slide in the fence.

Hi, ty for the video. I would like to know what you attached the other end of your racket tie to? Is it attached to the end post? Or should I attach the other end to somerhing farther away than the end post to allow more room to work with? ty
@carolynwolfe50235 жыл бұрын
so, judging by this video, we don't stretch the last few feet of feet that's on the end? ty!

Very good, I love birds but couldn't stand living there with that one,very intrusive....
@scorpionfence11 жыл бұрын
Now that is some Hillbilly stretching. lol.... I give you a thumbs up for it working. Dont try this on bigger stretches though. Longer stretches could easily cause harm to you or someone else when the wood breaks or the ratchet gives.

Not everyone is wanting to pay a "proffesional" to do something you can do yourself. And no, I don't give you a bad name. You obtain that on your own.

I get amazed by your video! Actually, the fence system is the main source of boosting your security level. Besides that, most of the peoples are using fences as a medium clarification of boundaries. It’s really to clarify your property boundary and fence system can be a good option. The company such as www.jimsfencing.com.au can help you with these types of issues. You can any type of fence system you want around your house and properties.

I was about to give you a "dislike" because of the jerky filming and un-understandable voiceover, but seeing the method you used made me change my mind! Wonder if that bird will be tweeting to help me when I'm doing our fence? ;-)
