Hurricane Ian damaged two different sections of my chain link fence. In this video I step through my efforts to repair the fence. Hopefully this gives you some ideas on how to fix your damaged fence.
Material:
-1 3/8 × 6 top rail pipe
-1 3/8 × 6 top rail sleeves
-1 5/8 × 6 post pipe
-1 5/8 × 6 post sleeves
-1 5/8 eye top
-sheet metal screws, size can vary
Tools:
-angle grinder with a metal cutting blade
-compound miter saw with a metal cutting blade
-drill with a nut driver bit
-screw driver
-post level
-demolition axe
-tape measure

I'm just glad your comment section hasn't been hijacked by youtube professionals detailing every single mistake. some of us just want to get things done w things we have laying around and/or the bare minimum. thank you good, sir. super helpful

At the 2:20 mark, did that sleeve actually slide onto the first pipe (to the right) all on its own? I thought that seam in the center of the sleeve might prevent it from sliding far enough so you can align the other (left) top rail. But your sleeve obviously slipped well onto the first pipe. Did you do anything specific for that?

After looking closer, I think I answered my own question. You slipped the sleeve over the factory end of the top rail to the right which has the tapered end. I guess that's what allowed your sleeve to go deep enough for the new pipe on the left.

@patf491 Yep, you can see the tapered end pretty well at around the 55 second mark. My older fence on the other side of the yard doesn't have tapered ends so it could be a little more challenging depending on what you are working with.
