Have you considered a video on breaking in a new or tight pair of leather shoes? Lots of weird advice online...

It never occurred to me to stretch a shoe. I do need to stretch the right shoe of my wingtip derbies. The left one fits great.

Who else thought he was about to sell us that isopropyl alcohol? 😂

Legit thought he was gonna say "This kirby allison isopropyl alcohol that we sell here at the hanger project was developed specially for us in a lab specifically for the purpose of stretching shoes"

@@iantan778 well, actually if you use some alcohol and use the stretcher or wearing them it will stretch the leather a bit, basically the alcohol penetrates, i use it when I restoring some vintage shoes that are too old and not in shape, acetone works too, only acetone evaporates quicker and it's more suitable to clean clogged pores and strip off waxes

You forgot to inform the viewer wether the shoe should be moistened your with your Iso/water solution every time you tighten the shoe Dasco? So several applications of iso/water or just once in the beginning?

How much width can you add? I wear an 11 EE and turn away from most brands because the don't carry wide sizes. Would it be possible to buy an 11 and turn it into an 11 EE?

Apparently you can stretch a leather shoe a full size wider and half a size longer.

Or better still, get shoes that actually fit your feet properly in the first place.

I would like to address this comment. I know that many can buy shoes that fit and be content. I am one of those that cannot. Although I have had 3 pairs of custom shoes made in my life. This is prohibitive cost wise.. I have to purchase EEE in real leather and stretch out the left foot near the small toe area. Due to a knee problem I have been jogging and hiking barefoot for many years. In my seventh decade I see more and more of the attitude that “why cannot everyone be and think like me?”.
@karldelavigne81345 жыл бұрын
@@kmcmichael I sympathise with your predicament but the more so because custom-made shoes can be prohibitively expensive. I find a way around this, in the UK where I live, is to have lasts made (a firm called Springline in Northampton does this at a very modest cost) and to get factory-made shoes made to order on these lasts. A number of firms will happily do this and it means you have well-fitting shoes at a price comparable to ones off the shelf. You can also get very reasonably priced bespoke shoes in Warsaw, if you can agree a method of measuring and fitting by Skype etc if you cannot visit Warsaw.

As a Certified Pedorthist, one should NEVER have to stretch one’s shoes. If you have to stretch you are improperly fit. You wouldn’t buy your underwear small and stretch them out would you? A much quicker way to stretch leather is 1. gently heat them to fairly hot to the touch. (I use a heat gun, but a hair dryer is what I suggest to my patients). 2. Stretch gently. 3. Allow to cool. Use a fan to speed up the cooling. I have never damaged quality leather using this method. Cheap leather... different story.

This assumes that everyone has the same proportions between their heel and their forefoot. I have a narrow heel and a wider forefoot. A C width Allen Edmonds fits my heel perfectly but is tight around my pinkie toes. A size D width Allen Edmonds fits my forefoot perfectly but I have to lace the shoes tight to keep my heel from slipping. So I either have to deal with a slipping heel or stretch the forefoot of a D width shoes to fit my foot properly.

As a citizen, I don't think you are allowed to wear a Blues and Royals if you have not service in the Regiment. Whilst you might gryvawsy with in in Texas, I doubt you'd be able to east coast military especially those with military academies. You would never get away with it in England and would be accused as a fraud. Sorry yo be so blunt.
