Nice one mate, but you shouldn't be taking the line to a tip, you should take it to your local tackle shop to be recycled 👍😂

Someone else mentioned this! I had no idea they offered the disposal of line, I will pin this for everyone’s information 👌🏻👍🏻 It’s probably because I don’t go into tackle shops, I just get what I need online! Like I’m sure many others do. Sealing it up tight in a plastic bag is the next best thing. However for those with the time to get to a tackle shop I agree that’s the best method of disposal 🎣🎣 I’m willing to bet it all ends up on a landfill site either way as it cannot be recycled, which is a shame.

Hi, Westy, type in recycle fishing line in your search engine to see how they use recycled fishing line, very informative 👍

Not all shops are involved in line recycling, some will probably just skip it once you're gone TBH. However, the actual programme is called ANLRS or The Angler's National Line Recycling Scheme. They mount bins on promenades mostly to encourage recycling of sea fishing waste.😮

Wish I'd seen this yesterday.😢 Just done a different reel. What a great time saver, and a dam sight easier. Thanks 👍

Put the same line on the same way for years. Had a couple of spools come apart even in cold water.

I wouldn't be bothering to tie it on, just tape it while you've got the roll out 😉🎣☕

If I'm stripping the spool completely I use the whisk on a hand held food whisk works the same as a drill but what I normally do is totally change my line every 2 years as get a spear spool to match what comes with the reel and wind it from one to the other and use what used to be at the back of spool as its practically new line still and not had any problems
