One of my favorite songs, but not an easy one to learn, and without an electric guitar sound after the first few chords it sounds like something is missing. This one will take a lot of practice,(which is a good thng), one to learn the chords then get the strumming right before trying to add the electic guitar, now where is my looper? Thanks for an excellent lesson Lauren.🙂

Hi Lauren. Thank you so much for this tutorial. I have watched a couple of others. For me this is the best one. You go into great detail of the strumming pattern which is really good especially showing the diagram of the pattern. Its very hard but I will get there. BTW the guitar on the wall is a lovely looking one. Just changing the subject (I digress lol) The model car on the radio is that a Starsk and Hutch replica? I had a Datsun Sunny, which you probably not know, your to young, in the same colours. I loved that little car. Can you tell me where I can get the same one as yours. Sorry about the long comment 😀

I love this song. The first half is lovely to play because of the open strings on the chords but the second half is tricky because of all those barre chords and it doesn't sound as nice in that 2nd key. Doesn't George Harrison play this on a 12 string acoustic which probably sounds better when playing this song on your own.

Laura, sometimes in this lesson, you change the strumming pattern! I think it's a mistake you didn't realise, especially in the second part!
@LaurenBateman Жыл бұрын
Hi Denis, thing is, when you become a better player, your hand takes on a mind of its own. 🤦♀️ Especially when singing. Most songs don't play the same pattern all the way through. Eventually, even the greatest artists I promise and flow at time.
@johnr711511 ай бұрын
I'll go with Laura on this one. Rigid adherence to strumming patterns are not my strong suit. I don't think it hurts her presentation. She starts by demonstrating the recorded pattern and if she deviates along the way, people who care can just stick to the one she demonstrated.
@sean39942 жыл бұрын
Good on you for being brave enough to butcher a song on the channel. Shows you are human after all. I'm not a fan of Capos and when you mentioned that this song is essentially played in chord pairs I worked out the bar chords and, with a little butchering of my own, played along. What I found amusing is when you said "butchering" I though George, Vegan, Hinduism and Krishna?! lets just say your working on it.

Got a couple of les Paul's. I love guns and roses. Nirvana, greenday metallica. Been doing cat stevens and powderfinger. Greenday . Neil Young. Travelling wilburys and that is when I came across gorge Harrison. Put the electrics away. I always thought he was saying my sweet love. Not lord. I grew up thinking that it was a love song. It is but I thought it was towards a woman not religious. The idiosyncrasies of life hey. Peace and kindness. Regards from Leonard. It is a really beautiful song. Little wing and angel by jimi hendrix are beautiful songs to. I am gonna have to grow some extra fingers for those ones on acoustic 😅.

It's like me, I can't sing worth a damn. Small animals run for miles and I won't do it but I can write. A neighbor and I enjoyed watching The Voice, I mentioned this fact about writing and he said I was full of it because in two or so years he never saw me do it. I had his parents and neighbors bring ear to ear along with him. My muse seems to visit once or twice a year, nothing to live off as the average song sells for about five grand and you pretty much need to be where the industry is located, willing to party with them doing heavy drinking , drugs or both. Fake, just isn't worth it, play because you enjoy it .
