So many guitar teachers on the net but Every now and then you come across a gem. Love your style and the great lessons. I can relate to the guitar God that comes up to you after your first gig or two and tells you how bad you are - it happened to me. That incident intimidated me for quite a long time. There will always be someone in the audience probably more accomplished than you. Keep up the great lessons.

Hi. Seen 2 of your vids now. Both excellent and really highly recommended. Please keep them coming, especially anything aimed at promoting as you do, a thoughtful though relaxed attitude. I am a little more advanced player, but I still found a couple of gems, points I tend to overlook. Thanks for cluing me back into essentials.

I just had to subscribe to this chanell. I mean I was looking for this kind of lessons for more than a year. Thank you so much for these lessons. This particular lesson is pure gold. It has just ''unlocked'' me. Would you be so kind and do some lessons on muting (left and right hand) and rakes and this kind of stuff? Recetly I watched your epic blues solo (perfect as any other lesson on your channel) where you are talking about that hendrix muting technique. Thank you!

You're welcome brother, just remember not to look at your strumming, don't think about any single strum. The key is to keep strumming when doing your chord changes, making sure that there's no gap! Best to you!

@GuitarPilgrim5 жыл бұрын
Hi J J , for Something by the beatles, I would play down-down-down-down-up (straight pattern) it's nice to do a bit of improvisation in the strumming but if you're new to the song or playing guitar, that pattern should work fine :)

My fingerstyle playing is 'good' enough that I can fool folk into thinking I can play a bit now. But my dirty little secret has always been that my strumming is terrible. However, after watching this I feel like I finally know why my strumming's so bad! I think I'm going to watching this video rather a lot over the next few weeks as I work on my technique. Thanks for the education.

hallo! als je, bijv drie akkoorden in 1 strumming pattern hebt ,moet je dan ook de open snaren laten klinken?
@GuitarPilgrim5 жыл бұрын

why EVERY ONE assumes that an absolute beginner knows how to properly hold a pick and the correct angle of it when strumming ups and downs?I've seen hundreds of tutorials but nobody breaks down this issue.
@mikefetterman67824 жыл бұрын
Whenever I had simple chord charts of songs I already recognize, the patterns just come instinctively. I bought a Martin sigma and tried to teach myself for a few months. I then took lessons to learn blues, my teach asked me who taught me Travis picking? I had picked it up naturally. I still haven't read music since high school, and only know basic blues pentatonics. But everything else I just picked up by ear. I had always though this was typical after hearing all my heroes talk of their beginnings.
