I've sat in quiet places before and written things down quietly to myself. It helps if you can hear yourself think clearly and you're not around anybody else when you're writing it all down in a notebook. People don't bother you while you're writing in a notebook as much.

An even stronger method is using a bible dictionary. Depending on the translation you use can totally change the meaning of what you read. Example compass is defined as surround. The bible says compass but the word is not the same translation from what we use today. It will use the Greek and Hebrew word and give you a series of bible verses that match that true meaning given.

I use the KJV, i have not had an issue with my definitions. But I have updated how I choose definitions by doing a word study on the word first, which you can see in my newer videos.

Thanks. Lots of good stuff. Lots of good effort. One question though - with the resources you mentioned (e.g., Blue Letter Bible) why not define the words using an online Greek lexicon rather than an English dictionary - since the New Testament was written in Greek?
@TheWordNerd2 жыл бұрын
The simplest answer is bc I dnt know greek, and the bible I read is in English, and so I need English definitions. Translation is trying to find and english word for the greek word, its not perfect but its what we have. I also do more in depth word studies now and make sure I take into account the Greek as much as I can but I dnt read greek.
@kenfhill840832 жыл бұрын
@@TheWordNerd Sorry. I wasn't very clear. The lexicons are not written in Greek. But they give the meanings for the original language words being translated to English. I do not know Greek (or Hebrew) either but the lexicons give a small peek under the hood that I have often found to be helpful, though not necessary. Sorry if I caused any offense - non intended.

Very helpful to make it like a mindmap ! But I object to your "claiming" things from God. We have no right to "claim" anything - we can only humble ourselves and pray knowing God will gracefully be giving us the spiritual favors He knows we need.

We are not claiming "things" we claim promises. Promises are Declarations God has already given us access too as His Child. Claiming them are reminding us His promises are for us and helps us remember He is a Good Father because Je supplies us with all we need.
