Tuition does not come cheap. This is how to balance being a student with a full-time job.
The first step is communication. Be open and honest with your workplace, including your boss and colleagues, about your school commitments.
Second, avoid all passive study techniques like reviewing notes and lectures. Combine spaced repetition with active recall for the most effective way to learn.
Third, use your commute for extra study time. Avoid driving if you can because it requires your full attention. Instead, study while riding the bus or train. Biking is another great option that ensures you exercise.
Fourth, optimize your sleep habits. You can’t afford to have a sleepless night or poor quality sleep. The most important thing is consistency. Build nightly habits that your body and mind will recognize, such as dim lights and a colder temperature.
Next, gain extra time for studying by optimizing your meals. Batch meal prep, make decisions in advance, and eat simply throughout the week.
Next, multitask correctly. Always pair non-automatic tasks with automatic tasks. For example, watch TV while folding laundry, phone your parents while cooking dinner, or exercise while listening to an online lecture.
