The hardest thing about making stutter house, is finding a good vocal... :(

Feel that! But remixing can always be a great way of finding some!

@@isantiago_ hey man, new to music production. Forgive me for asking, but is it legal to use an artist' existing vocal, chop it & use/release as my song. Cheers ty :D

Hey bro, a gentlemanly request for you to break down your approach for creating the shaper box time delay on the vocals before the drop, spent hours last night trying to figure out how you make it so clean, liked and subbed! Even a written response would get me through it :) I messed with the position of the chop, played with the Hrtz automation, got a similar effect, but sounded extremely robotic.
@isantiago_8 ай бұрын
Hey man appreciate the comment and hopefully this response helps! So when working with that time delay effect I usually have 2 tracks with shaperbox on them: one that I automate in hertz and one that stays fixed on the tracks tempo. That way if I want to have my vocals feel "out of time" I'll put them on the track that is using shaperbox in hertz and if I want to have them play with the tempo of the track (like 16th notes), I'll move them to the other track. Let me know if this helps! If you need more detail I can try and make a quick KZbin shorts too
@shumdumb60698 ай бұрын
Appreciate the response, I have the 2 separate tracks running already its more of that punchiness you are getting from time delay I am struggling with, it may be the placement of the chop sample as i can get a similar effect off a longer sustained note@@isantiago_
@isantiago_8 ай бұрын
Ah okay, then I'd experiment with where you chopped the sample as you mentioned, maybe using a part of the sample that has a little more of a punchy transient, but you can also try adjusting the start of the ramp (there should be a point you can grab) or you can use the square mode instead of ramp down like I used in the video (square mode could give you a little more punch)
@ItsGrantM7 ай бұрын
Depending on your DAW, make sure you have blending/bleeding on for each chop so that they overlap and it sounds as close to 1 sustained note as possible without any dips or pops, and then all you need to do is apply the tremolo/stutter affect

awesome vid. for the bass where you used serum .... could we just find a reese one shot bass from splice ?
@isantiago_5 ай бұрын
You definitely can! But if you want to make a simple reese bass in serum, you can do it with a saw wave with multiple voices and a low pass filter like MG Low 24!

@zeuskynemesis71495 ай бұрын
@@isantiago_ I try doing that kinda transition but not able to pull it as smooth as you.. any tips on it ?
@isantiago_5 ай бұрын
If you're talking about how I automated the rate at the end of the build up at 5:08, there's two ways I would approach it: 1) make sure my automation mode is set to touch and select the rate in shaperbox, then zoom in as far as I can in the track view and draw in the points where I want to automate. Then I would change my mouse tool to the "automation curve tool" and adjust that automation to curve a little bit. The second way I would approach (and this involves a little math) is to use a tempo calculator to find out what I want the rate to be once I end. For example if I am at 128 bpm and want the automation to end in 16th notes, I'd make sure to have the rate at 8.533 Hz. I'd probably also do the same thing of using the automation curve tool as well to make it sounds cleaner. Hope this helps and if you need a more in depth answer feel free to DM me on instagram! @isantiago.wav

How do you go from out of tempo to in tempo with the stutter?
@isantiago_3 ай бұрын
I have 2 different audio tracks, one with "sync" in shaperbox being automated (this is the out of time part), and the other audio track has shaperbox set on the rhythm (1/16)

I used Serum to make the sound! It's built off of a basic triangle wave in osc A and I used the FFT_Squeal Wavetable in osc B with a short attack, medium decay and short release for the envelope. Also added a multiband compressor and distortion... Hope this helps!
