I've worn my converse high tops with black shorts last summer at the tender age of 67 and got a lot of compliments on my outfit. For reference, I'm 5ft 2 and wear a small sometimes medium, depending on the style of clothing. I adore all my converse sneakers. Thank you for your ideas.

Thank you Rosa :) and I love shorts with converse, I wear mine with my denim shorts in summer. I think they look fab with shorter hemlines and longer ones, it’s the inbetween ones where your pants or skirt finish half way up your calf that I think proportions can look a bit of. With shorter shorts I think the high tops help to elongate and flatter legs xxx

Hi Andrea :) Tysm! I would say whichever is your style preference as I think they work exactly the same with outfits just the platform will add a bit of height or if you were looking for a chunkier shoe to maybe balance out oversized pieces or strong shoulders x

Loved this video and the idea of styling classics! I have two questions. Don’t you think high tops would look good with cropped jeans that end where the shoes start? Second, what would you recommend if you already had denim skirts that end somewhere between mid calf and ankle? I wouldn’t like to buy more denim skirts because I already have these but they are just not quite ankle lenth (I am 178cm). So there is going to be some skin between the shoe shaft and the hem of the skirt

Thank you so much :) I think definitely if they start and finish at the same point, I have some cropped flared jeans I used to wear mine with that sit like this. And as for the skirts it isn’t rule of thumb I just feel it looks a bit more pulled together. When I am wearing a mid calf length skirt with trainers I usually opt for an ankle version like the low converse or a white round toe trainer or they work really well with ballet flats, loafers and sandals etc c
