There’s a saying when hiking that “cotton kills” in cold conditions because it holds moisture! I’ve found that wool, cashmere, and moisture-wicking polyester is actually better for the ultra cold. (But I still wear plenty of cotton anyway)

Omg the thing about the snow making you feel ugly is SO RELATABLE, I've always thought that the harsh whiteness enhances the redness in my skin or like my acne spots/ dark circles, esp for me bcs I'm already pale so the bright background isn't doing me any favors. This is the first time I've heard someone else mention it 😭

Yeah I’m a bit confused about why she said that, especially since Uniqlo’s heat tech IS polyester/acrylic blends - aka “plastic”. I personally prefer natural fibers for undershirts and sweaters bc they don’t hold on to smell as much but polyester is definitely an okay choice for some people!
