Probably one of my favourite modern Guy Ritchie movies. Highly aspirational for me getting into suits. I love how much you can cover under 10 minutes. No filler, no gags, no gimmicks. Straightforward into business. Charlie Hunman's character dressed the best IMO.

Thanks. It's great to hear you were inspired by it. I think after Kingsman, The Gentlemen movie and TV show have insured all too men to dress better. Not outing James Bond of course.

Couldn't have dropped this video at a better time personally, just watched this movie through twice in 3 days and since have been looking for ways to incorporate some of the style queues in my own wardrobe. Thanks captain!

The clothing adds on so much more charm to the character. Enjoyed the video as usual. Thank you so much for your brilliant analysis. You are as knowledgeable as always.

Thank you so much! Yes they do. I can imagine in real life they wouldn't dress so well and seem so charming.

I'd be comfortable wearing a tweed sport jacket in the city on the weekend during the fall or spring; still respectable but shows you can relax and be comfortable when it's appropriate.

great video and nearly perfect analysis, however, Raymonds outfits could have been more precise… the first one isn’t a three piece suit, it‘s like most of his, a mixture of waistcoats and Jeans. Also in the apartment scene he isn‘t wearing a cardigan but a tweed harringbone waistcoat. But as said, great video and I do love your efforts on cutting, talking over nearly every detail and the passion visible when you talk about it. Do carry on.

Not sure I agree that Mickey’s country outfit is ‘try-hard’. I’m with you on everything else though. There are some great looks in this movie.

No problem. I might be a little harsh but it's the worst thing I can say about it so that's not bad overall.

@@ForTheLoveOfSuits Fair enough. Men’s clothing would be pretty boring if we all had the same taste. I love the overcoat you have been wearing in the past couple of videos

The lockdown created a "casualisation" of work wear and fashion in general. Jeans and a sports coat is now regarded "fancy". Ergo, tweed is now for everyone, anywhere.
@ForTheLoveOfSuitsАй бұрын
I'd hate to day that something good came out of the lockdowns. But a more flexible attitude to tweed is good.

I want to find lightweight summer tweed fabrics that can be worn year round and that I dont overheat in a heated office in the winter.

If you go to a tailor or buy early summer from a good menswear store you should be able to find a lightweight unlined tweed jacket.

Guy Ritchie is someone whose brand is built on suits! And the way he must have influenced Matthew McConnaughey’s wardrobe for THE GENTLEMAN gives this channel a helpful discussion of tweed suits. Well done. I do have one request for the creator behind this channel, For The Love of Suits. You advice, “Whenever picking clothes, it’s often a good idea to take your own colouring into consideration.” 0:49 So, as a dark-skinned male, I really want to see a video, especially from you about another male actor or performer with the darker skin demonstrating a virtuoso use of suits. Can you think of someone? Please try and avoid the cliched use of Idris Elba! He could wear anything and get praised! As of 9th December 2024, excluding a brief acclaim for Giancarlo Esposito and the charisma-free John David Washington, we don’t see a video devoted to a non-white star. How about Michael B. Jordan, Dev Patel or Jamie Foxx?
@ForTheLoveOfSuits16 күн бұрын
Take a look at my Tenet review. Fabulous suits and shirts worn by John David Washington. My favourite movie and a big influence on my dress style. I'll be covering more black gentlemen in the future. I'll take a look at Michael B Jordan as I'm a big fan of his acting. Any recommendation for a particular movie? And I'm a fan of Idris Elba so cliché or not I might end up covering him too.

Mickey style is 'American attempting to be a gentleman farmer', unfortunately he over does it; peak lapels, brash colours, strong patterns etc because he's a ultimately just a gangster. I prefer Ray's dress sense, he's the practical Jeeves to Mickey's Bertie Wooster.
