Regular sublimation (and most all inkjet) Printers can’t print white. As in the example of this shirt I put it on a white shirt for. White background. There are white ink printers but they are in a different category called white toner printers. Another option is to print on white glitter HTV where as any part that is white on your image will not print but the white glitter will show through

Hi, I’m new to your podcast! I love making shirts with the Cricut using iron on vinyl but I do have problems with it peeling off after multiple washes.. I am very interested in what you do and will be watching all of your videos in my near future! Dumb question.. what is “sublimation”?? Lololol
@Chocalateable3 жыл бұрын
Strings Attached Sublimation is a form of printing on objects and materials. Most of it is done on shirts, hats, cups, key chains, glass etc... You have to have a special type of printer, ink and paper in order to sublimate. It sort of binds into the material and the items last longer and are more vivant than basic heat transferring. Basically, it is a specific process of printing on special paper to transfer the image INTO the material, primarily polyester or poly blends. This spray helps to be able to sub onto cottons and/or materials with a lesser polyester count. Sublimation is very popular now and is fun to do. Trust me you will LOVE it once you learn it. You can probably go back and watch some more of her videos' and find as much info as you will need. I wish you the best.

Lorrie, can I assume that the more polyester content, the longer the design will last?
@LorrieNunemaker3 жыл бұрын
That’s hard to answer. Obviously the sub inks stick to polyester but if you have a poly blend shirt you don’t need the polytplus
@purpleheart18363 жыл бұрын
@@LorrieNunemaker This is partially true as polyt will enhance the depth of color on a polyester blend below 65%. A 50/50 cotton polyester will sub, but polyt will add to the color
@LorrieNunemaker3 жыл бұрын
@@purpleheart1836 exactly. Like I said sub inks will stick to polyester
@purpleheart18363 жыл бұрын
@@LorrieNunemaker But that was not what was asked. So the answer is yes, the more polyester the longer the design will last and it will have more vibrancy. In addition, when polyester count is present but lower, i.e., 50/50, polyt will assist in adding longevity and vibrancy
@LorrieNunemaker3 жыл бұрын
@@purpleheart1836 not exactly. The ink last the same in the polyester fabrics period. It doesn’t matter is it’s 10% polyester. The ink is going to last just as long on the 10% polyester threads as it last on the 100% polyester threads. Polyester is polyester. The longevity of the ink on the polyester fibers never changes. That’s why i said it’s not a yes/no question. If you’re using a 50/50 blend shirt 50% of the inks (the ink on the cotton) will wash out but the ink on the 50% polyester will never wash out whether it’s 90% poly or 10% that doesn’t change

A few questions: 1. Does it matter how you dry the poly t ? Such as air dry or dryer? 2. On the second round of polyt, I didn’t see you put a silicone mat in between the shirt. Did you forget or is that ok because it was a lighter mist? 3. Would you wash your shirts before shipping, if selling them? Thank you for your great video!
@LorrieNunemaker3 жыл бұрын
Yes you should follow directions (not air dry) and the silicone mat just protects the back from getting more moisture. You really don’t need it in that second layer because it’s not thick enough to penetrate especially when you press it immediately to dry
