Dear lord of the internet, a million thank you's! I've never gotten dynamesh to work for digging holes or carving out other objects. I picked up core'21 to try it out after having a stalled copy of 4r6 that has refused to update after many attempts to the contrary so I can finish a set of prints. Man, finally!!!

Trying to figure this out was why I gave up the software in the first place. I hope you know how useful you have been!

Yeah, this is a really great help for us lowly CORE users! ;) Once you get to the very end, can you use HPolish to smooth the edge? In any case, thanks very much for this guide!
@animateclay
@animateclay 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Kevin, as for HPolish - it's worth a try. You would have to make sure that your Z Intensity slider is very very low when you do it. Maybe around 8 if you use your mouse. Especially on any very sharp edges.

Does ZBCORE have edge loops or panel loops like its big brother?
@animateclay
@animateclay 6 жыл бұрын
I don't think it does. Not long after this video I had the resources to get full version of ZBrush, so unfortunately I can't check.

Helpful but confusing for a beginner like me. And why it looks bumpy on the edges?

This was great, thank you! I've been looking for a way to do this in ZBrush core for so long! How did you get the colors to be the way you have them? Mine just shows everything gray.
@animateclay
@animateclay 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Nathan, to change the colors you can click that red ball in the lower left side of the screen in Core. It brings up different materials, if you click any of them it changes the look.

if I make a Boolean...is it Possible to somehow make the Edges "Filleted" or "Chamfered"....
@animateclay
@animateclay 4 жыл бұрын
Not sure, but if I remember right - hard edged modeling is limited in Core. You can do that in the full version fairly easily.

Doesn't look clean to me, too much jagged edge.

You can raise your Dynamesh levels higher for even cleaner geometry - if you so desire it.

how do you make transpose look like that and not like the 3 orange circles?
@animateclay
@animateclay 6 жыл бұрын
I'm not too sure Yuhudiel, I bought the full version of ZBrush soon after this video. I would do a search here on KZbin on the transpose tool and see what pops up.
@yehudiel4588
@yehudiel4588 6 жыл бұрын
yeah, searching with you buddy, i thought it was innate with zbrush core but you have 4R7 which i have so i asked :)

It's toward the top of the window. A few buttons to the right of the 'LightBox' button is a sphere with a bloated triangle in it. You hit that you get the Gizmo 3D. Uncheck it to get back to the transpose tool.

Does zbrush not have a smooth tool that could be used to clean up the edges?
@animateclay
@animateclay 6 жыл бұрын
Not in ZBrush Core to my knowledge. I now have the full version but this was always a big issue for me in Core. In Zbrush full there's a thing called zremesher which cleans the mesh up really well in most cases.

animateclay so do you like the full version of zbrush? I have 3d coat but I like some of the stuff I see on zbrush and have been wondering if it's worth getting
@animateclay

Oh, you'd love it. You can do so much with it and if you plan to use it for any sort of work related project - definitely worth the money. One of the things about it is the online community is really big and finding tutorials really easy. There are also tons of free things you can download for it such as materials and textures. Even some models are free for use in some places.

when i merge it adds not subtract? and yes i did all you asked
@animateclay
@animateclay 3 жыл бұрын
There's a little subtract icon you'll need to click that looks like two circles to the right of your subtool. You didn't click it first. I think it's dumb that ZBrush doesn't just make those a + or - sign but that's what they did.
@apantrasansson
@apantrasansson 2 жыл бұрын
@@animateclay Hi, did that but nope. It still merges the two rather than subtracting, even though the mesh subtool below the main one is marked as 'remove'. Puzzling this is. Free tools on the net have this figured out, but not ZBrush?
@animateclay
@animateclay 2 жыл бұрын
@@apantrasansson did you Dynamesh it after you subtracted? The subtraction will first merge them, then remove the subtraction object after that step.

@@animateclay There you go! Asleep at the screen apparently :) Ofc I forgot this and will test! Thanks.
