Lots of people forget one thing: - that YOU are part of the creative process. What this means is, adjusting your business strategy to allow for experimentation is key. Being so financially stressed and boom, your creative energy and space is the first to go down because you can't experiment as easily. Great advice Aidin! and AWESOME shots as always! So much heart 🙏

Awesome advice Aidin. I find myself not wanting to post reels because of the audio compression. The app seems to encourage users to use sounds within the app, which I get, but if I want to do some sound design and loop the music in my editing software beforehand... It ends up sounding like it's coming out of a muffled tin can. The video compression I can deal with to a certain degree, but man that audio compression is discouraging. But like you said it's still worth making the reels to learn, grow, and share what I want to share, so I will still persist in doing so! Thanks for putting your camera at risk to make this video! 😂

Honestly I was about to say F it and jump on trends to get more views as I’m trying my best to get the most unique reels posted and only getting a little engagement when some real basic videos where no effort was put in it at all makes 100k views on the low end. But this truly just motivated me to keep it going!

Excellent video, especially the part about making something good. There's SOOO many bad videos on reels/tiktok etc. In fact, the majority are bad because it seems like people are feeling forced to make them to stay relevant on social media and to gain followers. This has created a flood of rushed and uninspired content to try and play the game. People that actually take the time to do interesting things with this format will be the ones that actually prosper

Thank you for this, I needed to hear it. These social platforms make us hungry for likes and comments, to post reels instead of images/creative videos. All this becomes discouraging when the followers don’t increase and eventually we slow down and stop creating for ourselves. Creativity lost. I’m gonna focus on my art and not look at subs or followers. Thank you 🙏🏽

Nice video man! I honestly stopped caring about instagran about 6 months ago. I only just post sections of my actual films cause I don't get any satisfaction making a short video no one can take anything from. I get why people like them and make them. I have just fallen into that realm at this point where if it doesn't have a meaningful story I don't want to see it. I would spend too much time trying to gain popularity and realized I wasn't creating for myself anymore. Your reel from Canada of the fox recently did get me to plan a hike there though lol. Thanks man!

Definitely a very relevant video for me right now. I've been working on a lot more reels lately, a lot of raw photo vs edited photo, which seems to be pretty popular, but i do like making them. I totally agree about the point of not using trendy music just because it's trendy. I like using music through epidemic and then add sound effects like whooshing or glitchs and work then into my transitions and so on. Long story short, i really like this video and thanks for sharing 🤘🤘🤘.

Damn I needed this ! I’m not gonna lie , it is very hard to not fallow the trend ! I haven’t uploaded a video for the simple fact that I can’t find an audio that matches my video along with the “ trend “ but then again I also don’t have a source of copy right free music that matches my vids/projects. I should invest in Artlist !

thank you for such a great video. We find the algorithm slightly punishes if you don't follow trend or stay in a specific niche. Either way my partner and I continue to make both reels and videos here on youtube that portrays our lifestyle in both food and culture, but it's a very broad subject depending on how you want to share/show it to folks. The algorithm doesn't know what to do with us lol. We haven't made very many reels as a result as the reward has been little, but we've decided to just persevere and stick to what we'd like to share as that is what we enjoy doing. We sometimes do check trends to see if it matches any of the stuff we'd also like to share and try to time it, but it's just so much work. At the end of the day we've decided to just do what we know and love and deliver quality instead of joining a race. We're happy to go on a stroll pace and hope for the best. Love your videos as always and looking forward to seeing more of your outdoor related content and anything else you may put on. They way you shoot and tell info and stories are fantastic and beautifully done. Cheers from both Nadia and Rob

True words and no click baiting on you tube regarding to social media and tipps for instagram / Tik Tok I fully agree and support your opinion doing your own style with the right music, I tried different approach and not sure how to breakthrough if I should go on trends or going to do my own style again, furthermore not sure if there is a button line with followers for getting reconized by the algorithm on these platforms. Anyway appreciate your Chanel and you are doing great videos what inspire me as you do it on a complete different style. Best regards.

I agree 💯 with Aidin on the inspiration and being original part of his video, very encouraging! 🙌🏼 But 1 points I can’t completely agree with… that is withbfollowing trend… especially for beginners, following trend is how one could discover their strength and interests. Plus someone once told me “what one think is original, may already exist”, and I think there is truth to that. I think for any young creators out there starting out, it is ok to hop on trends where they could put their own “characteristic” to it and making it original that way. Love to know your thoughts or anyone else who reads my feedback 😊

Amazing video as always. Here’s my question: This 8 mile hike, did you film some of it vertically for a reel? Obviously you needed it mostly horizontal for this YT video. What’s the balance there? #80percentCropFTW 🤦‍♂️ Just like everyone else, I should be posting more reels but don’t want to do it at the sacrifice of getting other content.

I don't necessarily agree that 'vertical video' (VV) is the way to go, despite many viewers being on mobile phones. When viewing landscape videos, people usually have the common sense to turn their mobile into landscape mode to get the video in a larger format. And let's face it, VV only became 'popular' because many people simply don't consider turning their mobile into landscape mode to shoot video. I hate watching VV on a large screen TV because so much of the screen is wasted, so thankfully, most KZbinrs know to video in landscape mode (just as Aidan's video above is - imagine how crap it would look in vertical). It fills the whole TV screen and looks more spectacular.
@ryanbishop3586
@ryanbishop3586 Жыл бұрын
Maybe VV is the way forward now. IGTV had horizontal videos, and it didn’t do particularly well. Social media apps like IG and Twitter are made for short form content and quick views, then scrolling to the next picture/video. It’s easier to scroll up and down while in vertical mode. It’s human psychology
