I've planted strawberries in Greenstalks for years. Never had a bird problem. Btw, strawberry plants have a natural direction that they lean toward, and you want to determine it for each plant and plant them leaning outward. My bird-eaten problem is elderberry, which are closer to the tall trees most of them nest in.

Been in the garden getting dirty and prepared 2 raised beds for my order of strawberries. I do have a Greenstalk with strawberries and used the insect netting that was made for the Greenstalk to keep the birds off my 'berries. Did not have any other pest issues with the Greenstalk. Had sowbugs issues along with mosquitoes and gnats in the bed, so will be using mosquito netting and a better mulch this year on the beds. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the strawberries last year. Thanks for the Strawberry growing guide. The fertilization schedule was very helpful.

I went to Lowes and got a 5 gal bucket paint strainer for the top of my greenstalk. Works great to keep leaves out of the top. Greenstalk makes a top now you can buy. You want to keep that top clean

This is a review on the Hoss Drill Hopper. I ordered one on Oct 4 with one pound each black oats and hairy vetch cover crops. I did not receive my order until Oct. 20. Due to a problem with the tracking number on the package. I got my garden plot ready today and planted. I have a home made row marker for the Hoss seeder set at 10” row spacing on the left and right of the seeder. First I planted the black oats and then the hairy vetch following the row marker groves. The plot is about 2400 square feet. The two pound of seeds worked out just right. Better than using a seed plate and it getting jammed. Very pleased with the drill. Got my strawberries in the ground yesterday on a raised bed on 4 mil plastic and drip. I heard a rumor that the old goat 🐐 is filling for hazardous work pay. You are never to old to play in the dirt. Know get dirty.

Well, I'm a day late catching up on the video, but it was another good one for sure! I like the look of those green stalk planters and may have to put one on our deck. Might be time to break out the superglue and send him to the goat repair facility. Poor goat.....

I’m a big fan of y’all! Bought a lot of seeds in the past! I had tried to order strawberries last week! Y’all were out!😢 but watching your vidio now and y’all had some… so hop over to your web site and YEP y’all had em! Done ordered a flat. I had allready bought those little dried up twig transplants from other companies. Had 250 of em, well only had 22 to grow!!! So excited to get live transplants here in Texas. Had only a 1/2” of rain all summer. Finely Blessed with 2” yesterday! Well cannot wait to get the strawberries!

The Old Goat is nestled in the Get Dirty socks behind Greg. I love HOSS seeds. They have out produced any other seeds I've purchased. But I pretty much only buy HOSS seeds! I am over run with peppers at the moment. The deer don't seem to want to eat them, but they took out any okra that is not netted. I have to net all my raised beds or the deer will clean them to the ground (even my flowers). My roses are picked clean right now. Love all your products.

Hey you all, when you mentioned roselle it reminded me about a video I did recently of part of my garden where the Roselle is at. I put my phone camera on a tripod so I could walk out and let everyone see how tall my Roselle plants are over my head. I got those seeds from you all in 2022 and I grew a couple bushes just to see what they are like in 2022 then this year I planted 5 bushes from same pack of seeds and I still have some seeds for next year. I think I am gonna have a bumper crop, the bushes are loaded up heavy with beautiful little calyxes.

Has anyone tried the strawberry rock trick? Paint rocks to look like strawberries before the strawberries grow, put the rocks in with the plants, then by the time the strawberries grow, the birds think that the strawberries are inedible......I guess I asked too soon.. Hahaha.. Just got to the part that Sheila mentioned it.

I have been pressure canning mine. I raw pack into quart jars, add 1 teaspoon of salt and pressure can for 40 minutes. I also just cook wiht chicken broth and smoked ham hocks.

The best way I've found to keep eating up my garden is to add a birdbath. They usually looking for water. They always attacked my tomatoes before I added the birdbath, now they leave everything alone, even my strawberries. The old goat is hiding in the dirty socks. I should say it's on the floor.

It was a netting of sort. It let the sun and rain in, but kept the bugs out. I ordered it from the A store. We are looking into some to carry, but do not have them yet.
