Wow!!!! Thank you for making HUT fun for me again with all of these simple changes!! I was 0-5-1 before and then won 3 straight easily! Immediate noticeable difference turning auto back skate off. Camera took a little getting used to but worth it! Have to watch ALL of your vids now.

Can you please make a video on how to deal with the skating (TPS) in this game? I'm constantly spinning right into defenders and losing the puck for turnovers I feel I have no control over whatsoever. Thanks

Very solid, informative vid! 👍 The one thing I disagree on is having ALL d pairings set on their off hands. 3rd pair d line i set to the correct handedness (RD-righty, vice versa). This is usually my shut down DFD guys with weaker shots. Perfect for receiving d zone draws and big breakout passes. All other zone face offs should be set with offhanded Dmen for reasons you said

when you were talking about AI that does forechecking better and were describing 2-3 setup you said: take the SECOND player to the opponent and then "switch off". but when I am switching off I am immediately returning to the FIRST player, because he is closer to the puck than anyone else, while I need to switch on to THIRD player. what should I do?

you should really get a pop filter. think about running your audio through a de-esser aswell; it's ordinarily a stock plugin in most DAW's so it should be a simple fix. if not im sure there is a free third party pluggin that you could download but double check which type of pluggins your software is compatible with before downloading. good content though.

I love this game but it has one really annoying issue. The jump in difficulty from Semi-pro to pro is essentially jumping twice. Every game I have every played has a similar jump in difficulty, most things are the same feel just with more challenge and require more attention and practice. Semi-Pro gets too easy quite quickly and then the jump to Pro is ridiculous, suddenly things that worked perfectly before now are impossible (when most of the time they should still work but less easily). Also its way too easy to get a tripping penalty in this game

Try Crash the net offensive strat. It is very effective off the rush and cycling the puck, players still set up in the overload, but still attack the net alot more
@SleevelessGaming
@SleevelessGaming 7 жыл бұрын
the problem i have with crash the net is that the point tends to get blocked because the forwards are in tighter. with overload you can pass up the boards consistently and frees up one timers from the point. but il give crash the net a little more time this year

2 things I disagree with....23 does not do shit. Always run the full forecheck setting with the agressive setup. This way your D will always pinch, and not get caught in limbo. Also your fwds will always pressure puck and atleast disrupt a straight counter if not fully stop it. The other thing I disagree with is using overload for your 4th line. Unless your running another checking line in this spot, then your probably running the goon line here. If so "behind the net" works best as 2 fwds setup on either side of the net, looking to deflect anything shot on net. Its pretty much the only offense you csn get from goonies, and it works pretty well. Neil and Reaves score atleast once a game for me with pure garbage goals just from sitting right next to the pipes.

Used to be awesome in NHL 13... since then I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. Literally just lost 4-0 with 9 minutes on attack to his 3. I had 43 shots he had 13. I give up! I did use the overhead camera which takes away the graphics of the game but easier to make plays.

All these "experts" talking about switching wingers to opposite sides. There is a reason this is wrong and those who disagree, never played hockey or don't know the game at all. You leave the wingers and defensive players I'm their natural positions! Why? Let me break it down. Everyone who knows hockey knows that we need the stick along the boards to send the puck along the boards, dump the puck in and avoid traffic. If you control the boards you control the game! Now, once the offense transitions on the attack, because they play the correct position, a left winger who shoots left and vice versa adds an important dimension to the game... If you can't send the puck along the boards then you are now a one dimensional offense and opponents know you are restricted to the middle of the ice. The proper way, and it was overlooked by these no it all gamers who, once again... Don't know hockey at all!!! Keeping players in position allows for not just the board control but!!! No one ever said one timers are much harder when following the proper hockey strategies. When any good hockey team starts moving up ice... The wingers and center beging to rotate! This causes several problems with the opponent... It's difficult to defend against an offensive attack where the forwards are switching sides on the dime and circulating... If the winger wants an inline shooting angle, they simply cross over in the neutral zone!!! If they need to dump the puck in and Chase, they need to have that board control which eliminates turnovers and drains the opponents energy! Keep your players in the proper position and learn how to cross over which allows quick exchange of the puck and helps the DEFENSE lose track of the puck as well! I Qualify to give this information not as a gamer but actually playing real ice hockey for years! Disregard anyone giving the terrible advice of moving players to opposite spot!

Michael Jordan as someone who actually plays hockey. Everything you say here is absolutely correct. Except for the fact you clicked on a NHL 18 video and not a “how to play hockey” video. I️ didn’t make the game, I️ just became good at it, and share the strats and setups that will take advantage of the games ai and play style. I️ apologize you disagree with everything I️ said and if the time comes I️ make a “how to suck less at actual hockey” video you’ll be the first person I️ msg.
