I agree, Kirsten this is another awesome video from start to finish! Loved every point, but one that sticks out is the one on acknowledge, validate, explore. I think getting to the point of exploring where the negative thought/emotion originated (who told you that was true about you? or what makes you think that is true about you?) could be so valuable and helpful in a compassionate way, gently exposing the negative thought/emotion for what it is (false, not representative of who/what they really are) and guiding them through the exploration to a true thought/emotion that replaces the negative. Keep 'em coming! 😉

Another incredible vid, Kirsten. I know for a fact that these tips will help with the fencers I’m teaching. Mostly college-aged, these guys share a very similar highly-self-critical and perfectionist mindset. We tend to adopt a pretty “tough-love” sort of approach, though lately I’ve been more interested in bringing some positivity and creating the space for vulnerability. Thank you always for your perspective!

Thank you so much, Dave! I love your heart for making a positive impact with your students. I’m sure they feel it, and if they don’t now, they will really appreciate it when they get to experience what it’s like to lead and mentor others!
