How did you tighten the bolts from the inside of the manifold? Maybe this will help others... My friend and I arms and socket are too large for that closed space. We drilled and tapped holes in the plenum above the bolt holes. It was the only way we could fit our socket into the plenum then we closed the holes with bolts. Some people may not like it but it's a 130$ plenum. Your already drilling and tapping holes for the vacuum lines and you may has well make it easier installing it. Later my friend cut the bolts closer and clean up the treads. Another good tip is to space out your vacuum lines. It's difficult to install your fitting if their too close.

This was a really good example of how to do it and what you sacrifice. I actually want to keep my cruise control for longer trips, anyone know if another throttle body that would allow you to keep it? I've read possibly an SC400 TB could work or even LS400 but can't confirm.
@corygrove14343 жыл бұрын
I'm going with a 350z throttle body with adapter on this same FFIM. Will be connecting to an SC430 DBW pedal and run on Haltech so I can retain cruise control.

Hi, are you still online? Can I ask you some questions in DM about the intake manifold? I have 2jz ge stock, I already have the same intake manifold as you, but your the only one that has said the cruise control won't work after installation. As the car is planned for daily use, is it possible to add the cruise control function back? I have some questions about vacuum lines and stuff that must be deleted from the back of the engine.
@cyrusmohebi3 ай бұрын
If you are somehow able to maintain the stock throttle body you potentially could still have cruise control. From what I remember the cruise control feature is electronically controlled by the stock throttle and ECU
@danthomas864 жыл бұрын
Why did your traction control not work anymore? Was it purely down to the change of engine management?
@batdad1875 жыл бұрын
Fact- this kills a lot of bottom end response, so it also shouldn't be done if you're on stock cams or a baby turbo. Large throttle bodies aren't fun for driveability on the street, and the stock tb/intake can support 600+whp :)
@LMFAO50014 жыл бұрын
Is this true for all front facing intake manifolds or just the one used in this build? I want to keep my stock 2jz ge naturally aspirated but i really want to swap to ffim cause the stock one is a pain for maintenance and looks ugly. Is there any way around the bottom end loss? maybe a different size intake manifold? Im thinking of turboing later on but for now just want the engine bay to be cleaner and easier to work on but if it runs worse id rather not.
@batdad1874 жыл бұрын
@@LMFAO5001 all aftermarket ones, yes. The stock GTE one still has a decent bottom end, but not as good as the stock GE mani with ACIS. That's literally the best bottom end response (while still having decent top end) you will get. Dont waste your time doing shit to NA just boost the bitch

hey brother, how did you tighten the bolts from the inside of the manifold??? I have the same one and my fat ass arms cant fit in far enough to get to half of them, any help on how you accomplished this would be great, thank you
@cyrusmohebi5 жыл бұрын
808volcomlifer I was able to slip my arm in for most of the bolts to tighten. I luckily had a long Allen key that would reach the bolts in the back. It was tricky but it worked

I figured as much, my plan was to weld the plenum like I did with my other build but if there was a way I could physically tighten it myself I would love to go that route, guess ill have to find someone with smaller arms then mine to try and tighten them hahahahaha. thank you for the reply, very helpful
