I'd also like to add some info for those who are on a BUDGET but would like to wake up your 2jz. You can boost it and not touch the ECU. This is achieved by getting a turbo kit and intercooler kit. Drill and tap the oil feed return line on the oil pan. And running a LOW 5 psi spring in your wastegate. It will run perfectly no issues just make sure you DO NOT go over 6 psi or else you will lean out and fuck up your engine! The ECU does not know what to do with boost past 6PSI so please keep this in mind when doing this! Remember this is for people who want to boost and wake up the 2jz and also do it on a budget! It will serve you well for a long time until you are ready to Upgrade the ECU and headgasket and rods once you get your money up. If you have any questions comment and I'll answer as best I can. Happy boosting!

No hate at all super cool build wish I knew what you did thus why I’m watching the video. Mine being a 98 it is practically plug and play wiring etc. but for cost it seems I could get everything I needed for around 4K. I know a stock gte isn’t running 35lbs of boost but I was just wondering thank you.
@RabidJz4 жыл бұрын
Mine is a 240, not a gs300. So in that case, you're saving even more money. The difference is, you're paying 3k for the engine just to pay 1k-2k swapping the manifold and adding a big turbo. A stock gte will have no issues making the power I make, but neither would a stock non vvti ge. This video was the cheapest way to get to the goal. When you swap the block, you keep the head, INCLUDING, your harness. It remains pnp. All that extra money you'd spend on the gte you can spend on mods. 500 for a junkyard bottom 1-2k for turbo/mani setup 600 for injectors Right there's is the cost of just a gte.

2jz noobie here I have a toyota S-Runner and I'd like to do a 2jz swap. My local pull a part has about 5 ge engines in stock at $300 a piece... I'd like about 5-600 Hp it's a weekender. I was planning on a ge with pistons rings rods bearings head gasket arp head studs but at that point I'll probably be 3k into it... should I just get a gte and not worry about it?

Are the engines non vvti or vvti
@JesusPerez-cm6fp4 жыл бұрын
Just make sure the GE engines are non vvti The older models are non vvti If they’re non vvti, you don’t have to swap out rods or pistons, they’re plenty strong for what you’re aiming for. That make sense?

I have a question....will this setup pass a NY inspection if I do this setup to my 2003 gs300 na-T

I'm actually not sure. If the tube tune is done good idk why not
@4evamaccin5 жыл бұрын
Jean Rodriguez Negative you will not pass emissions been there done that. Ended up Moving to jersey and got 24 year old project car to avoid emissions, antique cars don’t need emissions testing.

@@RabidJz well inspection will have to read the ECU....does any cell light comes on with your setup ...someone told me that running a GE ECU with a standalone on a GTE swap can pass....just curious this is a big hassle for guys wanting to go boost living in NY with year to year inspection. Was wondering with your skill and knowledge maybe u know something that can be done to pass

Chassis wiring doesn't go to your jumper. The harness will plug in separately to the engine harness. The jumper is specifically for your ecu connectors to the emu ecu

why not just swap a 2jz gte vvti from a cresta?
@RabidJz3 жыл бұрын
Because no one wants to spend 7k on a used unopened engine then needs to be opened and then all the extra crap on top of that to have a single turbo setup. Gte is overpriced and i can make more power out of my stock ge bottom
