The skateboard technique at the end is all time and wraps up what I consider an epic tutorial with every box checked. I have taught many people to surf or at least gave it my best shot and always used a skateboard to demonstrate technique, especially for generating speed. BTW, I love your style and because you are so talented your reviews are mandatory before I or anyone who surfs should heavily consider prior to spending a bunch of cash on a new board. I hope you continue what you do and that surfing will always be there to support you.

Haha, if it is done by accident, lol. I actually do a wide hand drag backside turn that if tightened up a bit would emulate a frontside layback snap.

Hey Sal, Ordering the Inferno 72 in a swallowtail but in a FCS QUAD at a 5'6 and a TAD bit more rail thickness like the 5'8's have for a smaller wave board -did You happen to try it as a QUAD? If not could you suggest what may be best FCS set up. My Daily Driver is a 5'8 Monsta Box with FCS Performer fins Thruster.. Thanks man-keep ripping!!

Hey noel I've watched a lot of your surfboard reviews and was just wondering which board is your daily driver for 2-6 foot with a range of wave power from all of the ones you have tried which is your favourite. Or if anyone else enjoys a board of this calibre then feel free to comment. Cheers! 🤙

@surfnshow What futures fin is most similar to Mick Fanning's fin? Great video! Will work on this.

The DHD fins
@mattclem382
@mattclem382 2 жыл бұрын
@@surfnshowreviews7777 Thank you Noel. I bought the DHDs in futures and in FCS to get a full comparison While I like the DHDs, they don't come near the level of speed, control and release that Fannings have for me. Fannings are a magic fin for me, and while the DHDs have that good drive/grip through the second half of the turn like the fannings do, there were a lot of downsides as well. DHDs felt slower down the line, they don't have the same connected-to-wave feeling that the Fannings do, and they are a little unpredictable as to when they will release and in transition. They are much softer than the Fannings for sure and I think that's part of the problem. The one positive is that they feel a little lighter, and once they are on rail they feel good, but I don't have near the confidence I do compared to when I'm on the Fannings. I hope this helps people in the same situation. For FCS, Fanning Fin is the one for me. For Futures I have really struggled to find a fin I love. They often feel either soft or just stiff and don't have a lively flex pattern. For example I like the F6 all around template, but it doesn't feel lively at all. Craig Andersons fins have a great lively nature but don't match some boards. I wonder if the Jordy's would feel similar to Fanning?

Hi Noel, question- for a pure twin fin, what’s the rule on the fins for surfing a lot bigger waves (on the same board)? Smaller fins? Larger fins? Keel fins? Thanks
@surfnshowreviews7777
@surfnshowreviews7777 2 жыл бұрын
For bigger waves on a Twin Fin I find that fins with a wider base and more surface area hold better at high speeds due to fin placement and board design. Now this is not true for all twin fin boards. For example… the CI Twin Pin has a pulled in Pin Tail with a Vee bottom so you can ride smaller fins in bigger waves due to the rails being more engaged with the Vee bottom compared to a Board like the Fishbeard. The Fishbeard has a concave bottom with a wider tail so it create more lift and speed so a bigger fin helps with more traction and hold… especially in bigger surf. If you want to surf bigger waves on a Twin Fin board then I highly recommend you check out the bottom contours and board outline…. this will help you know what size twin fins you will need for that board in bigger waves. I think we will see more twin fin board designs in the near future with the fin boxes moved back further off the tail. This will tighten the board up a bit, more and offer more hold and traction so we can use less fin.
