Thanks Noah! I’ve learned the frontside snap just from slowing KZbin videos of good surfers and trying to replicate their movement, the frontside snap has weirdly been the hardest thing to get down for me, on the backside I nailed it pretty quickly and don’t even think about it anymore whereas I always mistime the frontside. I will test this out in the water, but I will now focus on the back foot pivoting the board before I transition to the front of the board and also know the timing. Appreciate it brah 🤙 Ant
@SurfingWithNoz2 жыл бұрын
My pleasure bro!! That’s a really smart idea. And yeah I think backside turns are easier as you’re pushing forwards (where you’re already facing/looking) so on FS turns it’s like going behind you. Thank you for the kind words and sharing the story bro and I appreciate you watching to the end! Go smash some snaps yeww ⚡️

ANT! The multiple views make your tutorials so unique! Please keep them coming! Question: what’s the difference between a re-entry and a snap on steep wave face?
@SurfingWithNoz2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching to the end and for the kind words bro!! Regarding your question, the surfing world has completely stuffed up when naming tricks. I think if you look it up it says a re-entry is in the lip, a snap is on the face… but it’s literally the same move so I’ve stopped saying the word re-entry altogether… I just call them snaps haha

Love the way you break down technique and a lot of unique pointers. 1 weird Q for you: What's the difference between a snap and a re-entry?
@SurfingWithNoz2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much legend!! From what I’ve gathered (and I had the same question years ago 😂) a re-entry is when do it up in the LIP - like a windscreen wiper. A snap is when you do it a little more on the FACE. But to be honest I think Americans/Aussies say it differently and it’s the exact same thing haha I never say re-entry
@kylejames10712 ай бұрын
Dude this was the best front side snap tutorial I’ve ever seen. The multiple camera angles help so much. One question for you in regard to foot placement; at what point do you put your foot on the back of the stomp pad? Or is it always back there?
@SurfingWithNoz2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much legend I’m stoked to hear that!! I keep mine back there a lot. But when you put it should come a bit more forward, then as you setup the bottom turn it should press back against it 🤙🏽

Excellent analysis mate. I’ve been surfing four or five years and just want to start learning snaps. You break it down beautifully. Also thanks for the tip with the bottom turn. I often have this problem with surfing too horizontally which is a typical problem I guess for intermediate level, it sounds like that could be because I’m not starting my bottom turn by first pointing towards the shore to help with the angle up the wave? I guess I’ve been worried too often about ending up in the flats 😅
