after taking two lessons I would say this is one of the most helpful videos I have watched on surfing. It's so information dense, it needs several re-watch

This is great! I did two lessons but learned much more from this. Here they teach all the essential tips specially how to paddle and stop, nose-tail position and common mistakes and how to correct them, which is superb!

I thought you will speak about waves kitesurfing🤓! I didn’t pay enough attention of your title. 🥴 But I was very interested by your topic which is very explicit with great explanation drawings, as usual 😊. I am just thinking how to practice this 😎 with my very short strapless kitesurf board on the small lake nearby home without any tiny waves unless when wind blows upper 35kts 😜

Great location! Muizenberg, Cape Town...

It's a good learning spot. Also forces you to build your paddle fitness on bigger days.

@@kitesurfcollege It certainly is a good learning spot. Ticks all the right boxes... Not too far away: Noordhoek and Blouberg (Big Bay!). And yes - 'paddle fitness' will be built for sure when you see a great white the first time! They are usually after seals pups on the nearby island (National Geographic published fantastic footage) - but try explaining that to an inquisitive shark!

15:25 is poo stance. It’s very bad unstable position on your board. You need change angle of your foot. Turn your back foot little bit forward from 0 till 10 degree. Now is -10...-15. Its very unstable position.
@kitesurfcollege
@kitesurfcollege 3 жыл бұрын
Foot angle is not about stability in the way you suggest. If anyone is interested, stability is about center of mass over center of buoyancy when riding white water in a straight line, which is why we focus on stringer foot placement - after that beginners should think about nose-tail weight to control speed and look where they're going.

Boards in your video are too small for easy and effective learning on small white water waves. I recommend use big volume softboards. Use this formula: Volume of board in liters = your weight in kg * 1.2
@kitesurfcollege
@kitesurfcollege 3 жыл бұрын
1.2 sounds about right. The board was 68.8l and the surfer 55kg. Which is slightly more than you suggest. You probably got confused because she's very tall but not heavy. Also, board choice will be covered in a separate video, and most people surfing white water are taking lessons or renting a board anyway.
