Hey Brad! Would love to see you breakdown some longboard rides!! Maybe compare longboards and shortboards?

Appreciate the vid! Just wanted to contribute that if the clips ran more smoothly, not as stop and go, that’d make a huge difference. Thank you!

Similarly to what the guys said about comparing shortboarding and longboarding, it could be interesting if you compared body boarding to surfing at certain spot.

These are perfect longboard waves here in the NE... 4:22 I love to see how it's done. Not so much pumping, but he maneuvers like a shortboard.

Get a few options for boards as well. Getting up early is key in small waves.

It’s a bit of a hard comparison. They are two different levels. The older guy surfs hips turned and chest forward, kissing the knees. The grom surfs in Pooh man with his knees pointed in opposite directions. It’s almost ergonomically impossible to make the cutback unless the knees are pointing in the same direction.

Thats the whole point. He’s showing an intermediate surfer vs an advanced surfer

@@vybhavkandadai2989 lol , more like a beginner vs an advanced. Brad talks about angles and the grom having the board flat. It’s neither , it’s simply an incorrect surf stance. If the knees are pointed in opposite directions you will have a hard time making the rotation.

Hi Brad, in the example of alex fry I can see that is back feet is immediately on the pad after take off, while I always take off with my feet in front of the pad when pumping for speed. Would you advise having the back feet on the pad ASAP when surfing small waves ?

Step 1 - get a longboard. That is all.

In all fairness to the grom the board is too big for him it would be very difficult to torque or lean into the turns with that much board.

Those waves look massive compared to recent waves in San Diego .. it’s been like a lake , water is clear 😂
