Another great video, thank you. Although, rodent in a loft is more likely squirrel. Look for trees in vicinity and/or damages to facia/underfelt to the eaves. If it's a rat, than drain survey might be required. Rat in the loft 9/10 comes from the drain via soil vent. But my bet is still squirrel. Another thing, if it would be rat, I bet you could tell right after entering the loft...., very distinct urine smell.

Great video Sir, very informative thank you. Would I be able to request a video for a building survey for a commercial property.

If you cut the ridge board out you would weaken the roof because you would loose its bracing effect. That is why if Fink trusses are fitted a board has to be nailed to every rafter just under the apex.

Can you make a video inspecting a PRC orlit house? Or explain how to know how to identify a PRC building house, please . Great videos .

@@washingtonluis1770 hi and thank you for your comment. We can only video what is in front of us, and there really arnt all that many concrete houses in our area and even less Orlit ones. We certainly will do this but who knows as to when. Could be next week or in a few years time.

Hi, I'm looking into starting a career in building surveying - is it a carreer you reccomend? Also how many days do you spend in the office vs at sites? Thank you for these videos mate :)
@jhaych Жыл бұрын
Hi mate, I can't answer for the content creator, however, I am in my final year now at university to be a building surveyor. Clearly I believe it is a career worth pursuing as we will always need building surveyors as buildings will always be around! People will always be selling and buying properties, fires will always occur etc! Most roles now are hybrid roles, for example you may work from home 1 day and the other 4 days may be a mix of site visits plus office time! That's only from my personal knowledge and experience though!

Good response! I enjoy it, it is a vary varied career. Yes there will be some surveyor that only do party wall work, or only do home inspections, and that is fine, still enjoyable, but I love the every day is different bit. time wise, probably 50:50. A day out normally generates a day of office work.
