Yes, this is very common! I’m living it! Another tip is NOT to cancel because only one person shows up. It’s a character builder to do one on one classes. And if you cancel, how does that feel to the brave lone soul who showed up?! And also not to take it personally. My classes are always small because many only come when their friend is teaching-they’ve never danced with me, so they don’t know how my class goes! Thanks for another video full of great tips!

Hi Minie! I'm loving your beginner ZIN-member videos 😍🙏! I have my certicate of B1 since the begin of March but did zumba as a particiant for 10 years. Today was my 4th lesson on a gym of my own zumba classes, of wich I'm very grateful to do (even though I'm paid low and don't have a lot of participants because of the less commercialization of the gym). Today, 3 participants came. I love how they wanted to give their oppinion like using a different light, maybe a mic for the next time (they like my verbal cueing too 😂, yes I'm doing it as they are zumba starters). Normally, I don't use the stage, but as they said today you can experiment with the little class, I took the chance. So, I was looking to them today, otherwise I like to look to them trough the mirror, so they can follow my steps. But when you need to show something on their direction, how can you switch from mirror to them, also with left and right? Can you maybe make a video to give tips about this? Also because they like my verbal cues, so I said "to the door or to the wall" in stead of "left or right". And also, my steps are hard for new ones, but I explain the movements before the song starts and help them with it, starting with the feed. But soon the arms come and I change a lot of movements. How can you start with the basic steps (no arms) without it's boring for them? And do you have a playlist with songs for only basic steps that you use in that case? Or do you improvise? I'm looking forward to your response 😊! Greetings from Belgium!

Mmm, I love your enthusiasm and how you listen to the participants' feedback, it's very important; that being said...don't get too much into what they are asking of you, because otherwise they will drive you into teaching Zumba their way, not YOUR way. And once the classes will get bigger, you will start receiving complaints because you won't be able to cater for everyone. Does it make sense? Try, as much as possible, to stick to what they taught you in the B1 training. Possibly, no mic, no verbal cues, and no explaining the steps before the songs! Sorry! Yes, if you have one, maybe 2 participants, and they are beginners, ok, try and help them a bit more with a couple of words here and there. But I wouldn't explain the steps before the songs: if your steps are too hard for them, you gotta simplify the steps so that they can follow without explanation! Remember, my dear: it's a fitness class, not a dance class. All the best to you, I'm sure you're going to shine as a great Zumba instructor! PS: Pro Skills is the training for you: it will teach you how to turn to the mirror during the songs and simplify the steps.

I inadvertently found myself in a one to one this week. Luckily it was with my first ever Zumba teacher who taught me between 2010 and 2016. She has just started teaching again after a break. it's going to take a while to build up numbers. Luckily she was using the old choreography which I could still remember. I'm glad I'm still up to it now I'm in my 70s and with a teacher who is 30 years younger then me

You are the only person on KZbin who gives me the feeling that we have met already. I have no intention of becoming a teacher but I have been a regular class participant since 2010. Just from being a class member I had already figured out a lot of your consigli in your videos that I have looked at. I worked my way through 22 instructors before settling on 5 that I stayed with for several years. Only 1 is still teaching Zumba and she is based in Italy and teaches in Italian. I live in London so thanks to lockdown I have attended lots of what feels like 1 to 1 classes via Zoom. Have you covered teaching online? For me it has the advantage that my teacher doesn't actually see the efforts of a 74 year old man attempting sexy moves🤣(In fairness I should admit I have attended some of her live class, since 2013). What I appreciate is that you and my teacher are both very entertaining as well as being talented dancers who are also good instructors.

Hi , have been watching your videos and I absolutely love how informative they are. I had a few doubts regarding instructors training, should I take the basic B1 training for jump gold start training (which says it involves 2 courses both basic 1 and zin) ? which one is ideally better ? my second question is how long is the certification valid for , as in how long would I be required to renew the certification? would the renewal cost or have any charges ? also could you explain what is ZIN , does it have any benefits, if yes what are they? If at all I choose to apply for basic B1 training , should I check in for ZIN membership also? how long is the ZIN membership applicable for ? I would truly appreciate, if you could answers to these questions at the earliest since I am planning to enroll for the Zumba Instructors programme this month on priority and your guidance will definitely help me to choose right with proper understanding, looking forward to hear from you.

correction- Zumba B1 training OR jump gold start with 2 courses ^
@MinieMinarelli
@MinieMinarelli 2 жыл бұрын
1. Jump Gold start is B1 Basics + Zumba Gold training (low impact version of Zumba). Up to you if you think that you might use Zumba Gold too (for example, for elderly people classes) 2. These trainings give you the initial qualification, but then you need the monthly membership to ZIN to be licensed. You cannot take the trainings and teach without paying the monthly ZIN membership. 3. If you don’t pay the ZIN license the trainings will expire at a certain point, just check on zumba.com, it will be written on the terms and conditions! 4. If at the moment you don’t know how many classes you will get and if Zumba Gold will be of any use for you, just start with B1 and see how you go. Good luck! 🙂

@@MinieMinarelli thank you for taking your time out. This gives me so much clarification, lots of positivity your way. Since I am planning to taoe Zumba up as a career , I shall take up the Zin membership, but I think it has constant monthly charges , I shall check the terms and conditions again, I might have missed it while reading it earlier.

@@ritikaraghavofficial yes, it’s a monthly fee. I think around US$30 per month
