I've never seen any of the Friday the 13th films, but I enjoy listening to your analysis. I guess I have enough of a general understanding of what this franchise is about to not feel I'm missing critical information needed to appreciate these videos.

You miscounted. The 8 includes Crazy Ralph and the Deputy. Paul is alive and the dream sequence is a dream sequence. Hope this clears up some of that confusion.

Hey, guys, just updating you on 3D. It has been the polarized lenses since the late 70’s, so full color, but not as good as now (one eye was vertical polarized, one eye horizontal…now it’s done spirally which allows more light in). BTW: Gav, I’m the old slug who just said hi on Montjuic in Barcelona. It was great meeting you and Clara!

I’m glad that you liked part 3 as I agree it gets unfairly dismissed as one of the worst. When we did our pod specials all about F13th this ranked a lot higher than most for me. Enjoying these eps so I’m looking forward to see what you say about part 4(my fave)

Right? We took a look at some ranking lists, and it's weird how low down it frequently features. It's really fun.

@@RKG absolutely, but apparently what I say can’t be trusted as Jason goes to hell is way, way up on my list which got me a lot of shit but IDGAF😂

Heyy! Just wanted to note that I heard from the Kill Count vid for this film that Jason takes the mask off in the end to more easily take the noose off from around his neck. So there doesn't seem to be any will on his side to scare the character in that way. On the contrary he takes it off and puts it back almost immediately which would rather show how he doesn't want to be seen without the mask.

The thing about the recaps as well I think, is that if you look at when these movies came out, back before home video or cable became really widespread, people probably didn't see these outside their initial cinema release. And if you missed seeing one of the previous entries, you'd really have no way to go back and catch up on the earlier entries.

This really makes me want to watch all the Friday movies again. Had a marathon about ten years ago (probably more!) and it's all silly fun. In this one, I like the introduction of the mask, and also the final girl. The 3D stuff is pretty annoying, but whatever.

3D was a fad around that time but didn’t last long. See also Jaws 3. I have vague memories of a big “event” (because most people didn’t have cable) where one of the broadcast channels in the U.S. showed The Creature From The Black Lagoon and you could watch it in 3D on your TV with the cardboard red-blue glasses but that could be Mandela Effect. 😂
@onestepfromlostАй бұрын
So you won't get to see it in the original form as it has to be shown on a silver screen (a type a cinema screen you don't get anynore and where the term comes from)

This I also saw in a non 3D cinema when it came out 😂 Still like it a lot.. even though Jason apparently now is a rapist 😮 Makes it a tad more difficult to "like" him...too many people messing with the scripts I think

Jesus Christ. So many falsehoods were stated within the span of a few minutes that were then used as a basis for inventing nonexistent problems with the story that I can't even remember them all. For one thing, Jason removes the mask when he does so in order to extricate himself from his position of being hanged by the gable rope. Secondly, if you are actually looking at things soberly, it's fairly apparent that Jason, having arisen from his shack and absconded into the wilderness, is looking for somewhere to hide out. He is likely aware of Higgins Haven and so decides to hole up there, specifically in the barn. Unfortunately for him, not only does a group of college students arrive soon thereafter, but so do three biker gang members. In order not to have them alert the authorities to his presence, Jason stealthily dispatches them all aside from Chris who frustrates him to no end by thwarting at every turn his efforts to kill her and eventually vanquishing him temporarily. The Final Chapter can just as easily be explained by the same motivation. It's even mentioned by Rob (who serves as a monkey wrench in Jason's plans and is eventually subjected to a kill that is equal parts brutal and disrespectful given that, while he is savagely attacked by Jason, the implement used to bring about his demise is a mere garden fork) that he hadn't been aware that anyone even lived as far out in the woods as did the Jarvises, making it an ideal place to go unnoticed.

Saying you can't remember them all, you give it a decent crack. Fair play. Actually, while we have you: on the Itchy and Scratchy CD-Rom, do you know if there was a way out of the dungeon without using the wizard key? Cheers, RKG
