How to Swing like Lee Trevino

Lee Trevino is thought by many to be the best ball striker of all time. How did Lee Trevino become such a great ball striker. What does he do different from other golfers, and more importantly what can you do in order to make better contact like Lee Trevino.

He aligns significantly open and swings out. This can produce a fade or draw depending on the release. Steve Johnson teaches this with his Eureka Swing

Lee once commented on Carl Lohren's book ( One Move To Better Golf) thatCarl teaches golf exactly how he plays golf....open left shoulder and start the swing with the left shoulder.

95% of golfers are plagued by chunking the ball. Everything we do is a compensation to not chunk it on the course. We dont know how to use the tool. We can all learn in 1 day to hit a nail on the head with a hammer and by the end of the day we can naturally add tremendous power. “Straight jacket golf” instructors wrap us up like a pretzel and think we’ll be able to swing freely and powerfully. How do we use the tool and how do we get the club sweeping at the correct height at impact? Teach us that and we can take care of the rest.

JD, simply control your dominant hand from top of BS through impact. Your singular intention before the DS begins is to supinate your trail hand and continue supinating (rotate the hand palm facing the sky) past impact. of course the forces will not allow supination past impact but the intention creates the intended consequence. Sweep the clubface under the inside of the ball, not the back of the ball.

Did "not" win the US Open in 1972! Nicklaus did. He won the "Open" again in 1972 (British). Just showed that in the info before saying he did.
