Thanks for the video . I am currently employed with a IT company as a .Net developer for the past 4 years (almost) . Since this is my first job after B.Tech so that is my total experience. But I find myself not that much interested in coding and programming and after researching the post of Business Analyst I think it will suit my interests and liking. I am more inclined about know why a certain thing needs to be done than how it needs to be done. I am quite good in communication , both verbally and in written . (All my team mates comes to me whenever they need to send a detailed and long email to customer regarding certain problem or understand ). I do not have an MBA. So now what should I do to and how should approach my manager or HR etc ? Please suggest sir. It's becoming increasingly difficult for me to continue as a hard code developer/programmer !

Why don't you also try speaking to your Project Manager, he/she can take this decision without any company protocol. Since he/she know you, it will take lesser time to convince. In case of HR, you need to explain your strengths and abilities. The re-allocation process through HR may take a longer time and more over, HR needs to validate and that might lead them to Project Manager. You can also use any opportunity to make presentations or conduct trainings to a more general audience, keeping HR in loop. Some thoughts

Hi Haseeb/Riya, don't be hard on yourself. Most of us can't discover things. But good new is that you can still make the move. First of all, you need to decide whether you still want to be in programming or want to move into another field in IT? Once you have done that you can follow the steps provided in the video or contact us for a session with our experts.

Hello Techcanvass!! Thank you for the informative video! I am an IT professional with 5 years experience( 2 years as training coordinator and 3 years as software developer/tester). I intend to make a transition to the field of business analysis and was wondering what would be the right certification for me in this case (ECBA or CCBA). Could you please throw some light on this? Any suggestion/advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
@TechcanvassAcademy
@TechcanvassAcademy 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Teetas. CCBA requires 3 years of experience in business analysis activities and if you have been working as developer/tester, you need to check if you meet the requirements criteria. The overall experience requirement is 3750 hrs in business analysis activities and you may still meet the eligibilty criteria. However, please note that the CCBA exam questions are scenario based (assuming you have worked as business analyst). So, I suggest you check the IIBA website at www.iiba.org/certification/core-business-analysis-certifications/ccba/. These questions will give you some idea about what should you expected in the exam and then you can decide about CCBA. ECBA is the choice if you feel you are not ready for CCBA after going through the above information.

How can an IT Business Analysis course help in the career growth for a software engineer?
@TechcanvassAcademy
@TechcanvassAcademy 3 жыл бұрын
The course helps you to learn formal business analysis skills which is important to become a BA. Also the course can help you to prepare for the ECBA certification. The certification helps me in getting your resume shortlisted for interviews. So the course helps in two ways

I would suggest to evaluate your aptitude about development or Business analysis. Not everybody do everything well. If you don't have aptitude for coding and get into it, just because it gives you better salary, you will soon face burnout or will become an average doer. It's important to choose the field where you can excel. IT industry is a good pay master and you can earn well in both the domains.

Hello Sir I have almost 2 years of experience as a developer in IT domain and my interest area is in Business analysis field. 1. So do recruiters consider my past work experience as developer for me to apply as a business analyst? 2. Does domain knowledge matter too, as I'm having a good exposure to public safety domain. And I'm willing to learn new domain as well as per industry and clients. 3. What can be the best answer to question for "why you want to change the career from developer to BA"??
@TechcanvassAcademy
@TechcanvassAcademy 5 жыл бұрын
You have raised good and pertinent questions for a developer moving to BA role. 1. The employer will definitely give due weightage to 2 years of experienced for the simple fact that you understand the software development processes and nuisances. However, it will be not be considered towards BA experience unless you show relevant activities. 2. It does matter. Not so at the entry level but definitely the importance grows as you become experienced. If you already have domain exp, you will have an advantage. 3. Because I like a front ending role where I can communicate with the customer and on business processes. I like these activities more than the coding activity.

Hi, Currently I am a software developer with 3 years of experience .How can I build up my profile for BA as my resume highlights my role as developer only and that is the reason it is difficult to get shortlisted in any company.
@TechcanvassAcademy
@TechcanvassAcademy 3 жыл бұрын
First of all, you need to upskill so that you have formal BA knowledge. Then to provide credibility to your profile, you should get ECBA certification from IIBA. Use the projects you have worked on to at least showcase some part of BA work in your previous projects. All these should help you getting shortlisted
