Do make sure that the controller is charged. Otherwise, it'll just turn off because there's no charge left in the battery.

Thank you this fix worked perfect after my controller was dropped and would start messing up after about 5 mins of play. To everyone asking about the four blinking lights when you unplug the USB cord. All you have to do is unplug it and hit the little reset button on the back of your controller then hold the PS3 button down and your controller works wirelessly again!

That means your battery is low or out if you hold your usb cable a little bit longer in ur ‘new’ controller it will charge the battery

Hi there, i assume you mean you are trying to sync the controller by connecting it with your USB cable. Try shutting down your ps3 console, and then try the steps again. If it still doesn't work, it is likely that either your cable is faulty, the controller is faulty or the USB port is faulty. Try connecting to the other USB port. You can also test if this controller is faulty by trying to sync with a controller u know that works. Then change the cable if it doesn't. Hope this helps! :)

Hi, try pressing the PS button when the PS cord is attached to your controller and the PS3 console. When the lights stop blinking, pull out the cord. If the 4 lights blink continuously, it is usually an indication that the wireless feature is unable to connect with your console. In that case, you can only play with your cord attached. You may want to go back to the vendor to check it out.

Not that I know of. Look around your house and see if you have a usb cable, one side of it is the normal usb head and the other is a mini-usb head. That'll work. Otherwise, you can buy a new cable from Amazon or your local IT store.
