This was right on time for me. I have been struggling with stopping when skating forward outside. Thank you, Marilyn!✌😁 EDIT: Thank you for doing it in your Lollys with the Gummy wheels. That's what I skate on outside and was worried the Gummies would "stick" too much and trip me up. I also took the advice from another one of your videos and got Gumball toe stops. What a difference! I feel stable now when I do a toe stop because they are wide and stable. I also went to softer cushions and that improved my truck action greatly! I can turn easily now! 🥳 Thank you for sharing your experience with us! It's most helpful!✌😁🇨🇦

Omg, thank you so much for this. Every other tutorial I've watched failed to mention that being able to comfortably glide on one leg is a prerequisite for this move. The gliding practice was SO KEY.

Nose chest toe was GENIUS!!! I wasn’t understanding how to balance on one foot so I was still wobbly and could only balance for less that half a second and now I can do it so much easier!

I should’ve watched you before going out Coach Marilyn (it’s cool that you talk that way). Had a tough time this morning with this stop because I wasn’t holding my chin and chest over my knee. You’ll turn if you don’t! I’m going out again to get this right, breaking it down with the 3 steps. I read another comment about the glide being key. Thank you! ☺️

Thank you so much ! I am roller skating in my block ‘ s corridor as i watch this because there’s more space than in my house . As soon as you mentioned the butter and bread example , I straight away was a step closer to gliding properly than before . Because that example helped me to realise that I shouldn’t be dragging my back foot with so much pressure . Now I’m starting to get a better understanding of how much pressure I need to put and the technique that I need to use . I’ll give an update in this comment once I’ve somewhat mastered it . :)

Yes!! Just what I needed!!! 😃😃 I love the butter the bread analogy, that makes so much sense to me!! It also sounds delicious 😋 & the nose, chest, knee - can’t wait to try this out.

Omg thank you so much for this video, I could not for the life of me figure out T stops, and really began to hate it, but something you said actually made it click and I can actually do them now safely without tripping over my skates, not really sure what it was that made it click, honestly I think it was just the fact that you showed and discussed where your body weight should be and to not slam the back skate down, smooth like butter 😆🥰

Hi! Clear explanation, thank you! So is it normal when your back skate makes that noise (the "krrrrr")? I feel like I'm doing something wrong because of it.
@MarilynTantrum3 жыл бұрын
the noise is the wheels making contact on the surface you are one. like a scraping

Hi Marilyn, wondering if you have any tips. I've been trying to master t stops for weeks now and I just can't seem to get them. I don't really know what it is at this point. I think my main two hang ups are my back food doesn't glide, I'm really trying to work on that but it ends up getting some pressure and going bumpy. The second is possibly that my legs aren't really lined up in a T. I end up in a bit more of an L than a T. Do you have any tips for this? I've seriously been working these into my practices for the last month. Thank you!
@MarilynTantrum3 жыл бұрын
so hard when I cant see you! do not rush your T stop. if your back skate is bumpy on the surface make sure you are placing the back skate down with all 4 wheels gently and play with the weight.

Hello Marilyn! I have a question. So I bought some skates which have bolt on toe stops and I have noticed that the stem of other toe stops is bigger that the one in my skates. I want to change my toe stops into ones that aren’t bolt on but I don’t know if the Gumballs would fit😫 or are there any others? Hope you are doing well :)
@MarilynTantrum4 жыл бұрын
What skates do you have? They might be non removal toe stops
@anaceortega29424 жыл бұрын
I have rookie bubblegums! I just started skating. But I’ve noticed that the stem of other toe stops is way thicker than the one in mines. And I would love to change my toe stops into adjustable ones. Hope you’re having a good day!

Can you do a video on turn around toe stops. Or even just toe stop when going backwards. I always feel like I'm going to fall, and I hate using the stops as a primary stop since all of my skating is outdoors and it's hard on the wheels.

Marilyn Tantrum I just got shipping notification for moxi lolly's, but my current skates are sure grip boardwalks. I had the sure grip Rx toe stop and thought the rounded tops might be part of my issue so I just switched to the Chaya toe stop. I ordered the gumball for my lolly's. I can walk on my toe stops and have started working on toe stop drills. It's just toe stops from rolling that's tripping me up. Literally. lol 🤣😩🖤

its harder to do with outdoor wheels on. I cant see you to offer any feedback. don't rush the one foot glide. you will need a smoother path

But this does not work on rough paths or roads
