Thanks for the great videos! They are very informative and to the point. I only have on suggestion: IMHO, the music interferes with your voice and is distracting. I think the videos would work well without any music. There really isn’t any need for it during the instruction. Thanks again for posting!

Thanks! I really appreciate it. As for music... I get that, not everyone's cup of tea. The automated closed captions for the most part are (usually) pretty dang accurate so you could mute and watch/read as well... just one way to skin that cat! I'll pay close attention to make sure the music never drowns me out and keep calling me out if it does!

What's your recommended approach when the factory power steering fluid is clear in color to begin with? Since this is red, just do 6-7 rounds until it's a nice solid red similar to the new fluid in the container? Thanks for the awesome videos!

All of it that you can get in one big syringe pull, that’s correct!
@kyleguthrie4598

So basically start by draining old fluid and adding new fluid in the reservoir and then drive to allow it to pump throughout the system and then repeat until it's red?

During the remove replace, do you remove the entire contents of the reservoir every time? Then fill to lines every time?

Yes, it's best to draw as much fluid as you can from the reservoir. Do fill it to the full line every time. Greg the Editor

Would there be any issue in sucking the old out, doing a few rounds of “cheaper” dex 3 (like the $10 stuff) and then doing the “Toyota” branded dex 3 near the end? Instead of going through 2-3 bottles of the $22 stuff? Or is that just stupid? 😂 thanks a bunch for the helpful video. New subscriber!

My 2020 has 42k miles and I just noticed that it’s at the “cold min” line. There are no leaks, so I guess mine was shorted at the factory too. It’s probably a good time to go ahead and do the flush shown in this video.

For mileage intervals, in most cases yes. These are very safe numbers for most any engine. I reccomend double checking via the web to be positive. For walkthroughs and step by steps unfortunately no. 2 quite different engines.

How can you remove air that’s introduced into the system? For example after a ps pump replacement…
@teamoildrop
@teamoildrop 3 ай бұрын
In that instance it's best to jack the front end, place the truck on jack stands. Once the reservoir is filled, start the engine and allow it to run for 15 seconds. Turn engine off and check the fluid level. Repeat this process and begin to turn the steering wheel. Turn lock to lock several times. This will bleed the system, pushing the air back into the reservoir through the return line. The Editor

I’m thinking about doing this to my truck, over 100k miles and I think what I’m going to do is this method instead of an actual flush because 1. Doing a flush may introduce air and 2. I want to see it slowly transition and flush any contaminants that may have gotten in there so if you do it that much, you’ll have a higher chance of catching it

This is a way, but one I would never do as you have to bleed air out of the system which is sometimes difficult. Rather, do the same flush you are doing but ensure you have a continuous amount of fluid in the reservoir whle it pumps through your unplugged flushing hose. Best wishes!
