I took a video of your video. You're right, it is easy! But I was using a manual focus Zeiss 50mm lens on my Canon 5DM2.

How do you manage to use auto focus when shooting video?

Your lense should be able to do that - if it can't you manually focus on the subject before you start recording

Hi Terrance. Thx for this video. Curious what lense you have on that Mark II. I just got a used one and I love it. Bought the canon L 17-40. But wanting something a little more zoomable. Any suggestions help a lot!

I found when using a zoom lens, live view, the autofocus does not work beyond 80mm. In fact, the autofocus does not seem to work at all. Also my Canon 5D Mark2 does not have the Silent Shoot, U Metering timer on Live Function Settings. Also it does not have Stills only/Stills plus movie function. And my ON/OFF camera switch have two ON switches. And what is the difference on the Video System NTSC and PAL?

Then a 'movie' becomes 'video' and video becomes a '12 minute clip'. Lucky we don't have such problems nowadays and I'm confused why there's no workaround on the model.

I actually use a Canon Vixia HF G40 to record video in 1080p HD. Video cameras are designed from the ground up to record videos while a DSLR was designed from the ground up to capture still images. Use the proper equipment for your work and you'll be a better photographer. The Vixia HF G60 records video in 4K and has a 1 inch sensor...even better!
