How to Take Apart C7 Corvette Center Console

Hey there and thanks for stopping by! Today's video is a brief run-through showing how to take apart the center console & shifter boot on a C7 Corvette (specifically on an auto trans - manuals are similar though.) Hope this video helps anyone who was having a hard time figuring this out or who was worried they were going to break something lol!
*Also, update: so far the car doesn't stink (~2 weeks later)... still no idea where the coffee went???

1Brain4Wheels thanks for the video! My light strip (p/r/n/D/m) wouldn't light up. Took it to a dealer, they said "it shouldn't light up at all in A8 - you have a gear indicator on that hologram" (HUD) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Clearly it should be lit. So ill fix it myself.

Big Bo wow, that’s a shitty response from that dealer... should’ve dragged them out to one on the lot and been like take a look at one for yourself haha And thanks man, glad it could be helpful, hopefully fixing the led/connection for the indicator isn’t too bad!

1Brain4Wheels I wish I could. They had no vettes in their inventory. Primarily GMC / Chevy / Cadillac vehicles. With that " it shouldn't light up in the first place" response, I knew these guys couldn't tell their ass from a tire. Took my car and left. Also "bended wheels are not a subject for warranty" - but that's a different story :)

Appreciate the video only hard part is the gear selector no way to safely pull that thing up without it flying off and pulling the cord with it

Be careful pulling on shift knob, there is a small plug that can get pulled apart if not careful.

After sustaining a number of coffee spills in my vehicles over the years, I have come to the conclusion that: 1) those lids by material & design are simply not reliable 2) food and drink is permissable in my SUV, but nothing but a screw top water bottle or flask enters my Vette. I just care too much about my Vette when considering the odds of a spill plus the possible aftermath of milk and coffee odor, the time involved in console dissassembly and steam cleaning the carpet and padding. Its just not worth it to me.

Yes, I completely agree! I wish I had come to that conclusion before this incident... I'll count myself lucky that so far no smell! Also, lol at flask! Full of water of course haha

I get the purpose of buying one of those covers, but I personally just don’t like the look of the material they use... but then again a stretched out center console lid would look bad too... I guess it’s nice that those are available as an option. :)
