K&H Snuggle up Bird heater is a life saver! My birds each have their own & they cuddle up to them every single night. They are safe, I leave mine on all day & night & birds love them. Heated perches are a NO-NO! The heat penetrates their feet, can burn them & dry out their little toes. Get a K&H snuggle up heater that goes inside of the cage on the side of the cage that they can cuddle up to or move away when toasty cozy. Birds love to be warm & cozy. I also give my birds fresh warm water in their cage every night. They fill up their crops with warm (NOT HOT) water & helps them get cozy & get a good night sleep.

I know this is about winter, but I need to mention that you gotta be careful to place birds in a window in summer or when it gets warmer. They can get too much heat in a window, so remember to consider moving them after winter or at least cover the glass with something if needed. 😊

It just takes A LOT of time to tame them.. to tame means to gain trust & build a friendship. It could take weeks, months, in rare cases.. years. Take it slow, dont rush it. Slow & steady WINS the race
@natasamladenovic17655 жыл бұрын
Clara, it is important that you set a routine with your bird, so that she can predict your moves like: she is cleaning my cage, she is fillingcthe food bowls, she will hang the cage on the balcony etc....when your bird stops being scared when you do those things you can give her treats to associate your hand in cage with a treat. I was going wood numb standing motionless for an hour or so befe mines started nibbling. And wjen you let them out NEVER chase them back in the cage even if it means leaving the light on until the bird returns inside. Also what helped me: when i got a bird i started playing to her a single budgie chirping from the youtube. Always the same one and when i finally let her out for the first time i placed my phone chirping near the cage and she flew towards the sound and found the cage. I stopped after sometime, got another bird to my female and then i stopped playing that one single bird chirping so that my birds would connect. Now they are an item and i sometimes play to them a budgie flock chirping (so that they have a feeling that they are in the flock). Good luck

I had a Lutino parakeet, I adopted her because since she was a child her parents beat her and the young also rejected her His guns were damaged all over his body so she didn't get as many feathers as a normal parakeet She could not fly because she lacked the flight nor had her tail so long If it was a little cold, she was already made ball and the others still did not feel cold I didn't care so much it was the first time i took care of parakeets But when winter came, she spent the night sleeping or making a ball in a corner of the floor I always covered them with blankets but she still can't survive On her last day, I remember that my other 3 parakeets, which I adopted at the same time as my lutina, were put around her and were giving their warmth, I imagine they were presenting her death On the morning of the other day I saw them that they were fine and I just put the blanket on one side because it seemed sad to me to stay in darkness I went to breakfast and when I looked they were the same, giving warmth to my lutina I went out for 30 minutes and when I came back to see them, my lutina was already dead and my other parakeets were in another corner of the cage, I took it out and ran to the vet thinking that she had only fainted, but nothing could be done, the cold entered in his bones and in his heart: c She lived with me for only 10 months, was more delicate than the others and I didn't know how to take care of her well :c
