My cast iron wok gets and retains heat so well the vegetables litterally jump when I add them. Everything cooks faster saving gas so I hardly ever use my carbon steel wok. I got it six months ago and love it. If you rinse it out immediately after cooking, it retains its non-stick finish which I only occationally need to touch up.

A touch of oil while it is hot will help prevent any rust appearing longterm and will help retain its non stick properties.
