You're such an awesome teacher dude, I heard a guy at a jam session this week hit bum note after bum note trying too hard to fill his lead breaks with a million notes, it's not needed, it's not cool, less is cool, understanding where you are is cool. I'm learning so much from you. thank you for creating a world of better guitar players.

I've been a bass player in bands since I was a kid. While I have always been able to play guitar, I could never figure out what made good guitar players sound so good. Thanks to you, the veil is pulling back, and I'm starting to play like the guys I have always admired. Thanks for helping me add style and flavour to the technical skills I relied on for bass. I've been looking for a teacher like you for a long time. Thanks Rusty.

This lesson is a great starting point for intermediate players who need to break out of the box! Keep it going! We forget the greatest songs come from Bar Cords! You know a big problem I have is I love playing guitar until I plug into an amp! It’s the strangest thing! I’ll be really happy with my playing and love my guitar until I plug in! Nothing sounds good to me! Theres only one amp I really like in Garage band called (Heartbroken) and nothing in Helix native sounds good to me!

I would greatly appreciate to have tablature for these licks. This amazing teaching method is changing my playing, but I spent hours trying to decipher on slow speed Rusty’s licks. Even a hand written image would do. I hope Rusty can take it into consideration as an extra help for us, newbies. I would not mind paying or making a small donation (bymecoffe) for the tablature. Thank you!

Hi, are you able to expand on the 4-5 of the 1-4-5? I didn’t get how I can apply what you were saying to 4-5 in the change. As the 4-5 root note is in the A string, do we need to change a pentatonic shape that has the root on A? Thanking in advance.
@rustysguitar1
@rustysguitar1 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I’d like to stay with the same pentatonic scale all the way through. But highlighting notes in the up coming cords. That’s briefly what I did in the video. Sorry I didn’t talk about it much specifically. The C minor pentatonic scale works great over all three chords in this case. But starting with the root note of the four and five chords. Then may be targeting the third of each of those chords also. Honestly, it’s not an easy task. I still work on this every day myself. But once you make some of those connections it’s so much more fun and exciting to play the guitar. Glad you were on the journey with me. Keep rockin buddy.👍
