Thank you so much for all of this great information! Taking in as much as I can. I’m a beginner. I’ve only had my bp & corn for 2 yrs. they are both like puppies. I’ve wanted a smaller retic for a while now. I just purchased a SD frm Garrett. I can’t wait to start working with her. To think that 3 yrs ago I was terrified of snakes. My 6 yr old grandson loves snakes and he lives with us so we started researching and we got our first corn snake at the tinley oct of 19 show then we got a BEL bp a few months later and we love them both so much! I wanted something a bit bigger and more interactive and after doing research I found ROR and Garrett. I never dreamed this 57 yr old grandma would be so obsessed with learning all about snakes but here I am! Lol. This was so informative. Thank you!

Say what you want about the guy but Kevin is a genuine magician when it comes to this behavioral type stuff. Barczyk and others try to use his techniques and lingo in their videos to get across the same message but lets be honest, nobody really has it down to a science like this dude........ Especially the monitor behavioral profiles he creates and uses are incredible. Kevin seems to go above and beyond and even gets Croc monitors and water monitors to take turns and co-exist during feedings...... I tried to raise a Cumingi and a black throat following some of his videos, failed miserably altho they were CB....... Nothing but respect, and I hope he reads this. Great message, great technique. A great inspiration and a message more people should listen to.

I agree with 99% of what you said except, I believe they recognize the mannerisms and movements of their owners and not their owners themselves. The snake gets so accustomed to one person's approaches that when someone else approaches the enclosure, they get a different response because of subtle nuances in angle, speed, and familiar smells on clothing ect. Great info.

Incredibly helpful man. I love Kevin. He is the man. I have a good size collection, but I just got into retics in the last 2 years. I've raided a few from babies and they are big sweet hearts. But I also know there personality. I recently bought a female Motley albino lavender. She is only a year and a half old, but already we'll over 7ft. The previous owner didn't handle her much at all, so she is pretty defensive when it comes to Handling. She hasn't really tried to bite, but she is really flighty and hissing a lot. So I'm trying to just build little threads of trust like Kevin was talking about and so far its been going very well. So thank you for all the great content and info Kevin and Dave and you also brian. I actually wanted to meet u both for a long time and I saw you both at Tinley a few months ago, but when u walked up to you guys u were filming so I didn't want to interrupt. Hopefully I'll get the chance next year. I was hoping Kevin would be there too, but he wasn't. Some of NERDs animals were, but not Kevin. Anyway, thx again guys
