ALWAYS. People always tell me not to layer conditioner or product or anything at the roots but it’s tempting when my lengths are nice and my roots are tatted up

You can put conditioner on roots. Just make sure to wash it off. I started doing it and i do not notice a huge difference. Although yes my scalp does get oily a bit faster but i simply just shampoo them then. Better than having dry ass roots

generally what I do is concentrate the conditioner there. My crown area tends to be more coarse and frizzier in texture compared to the rest of my fine hair so I'm just extra with the moisture there. I know people discourage to put conditioner from top to bottom but I would end up with nice ends and frizzy roots otherwise lol

I struggle with root frizz a lot 😩 I also do not get greasy/oily hair anymore. It's like my scalp doesn't produce oil anymore 😕 thank you so much for all the help!

Hi Gena, I've been enjoying your videos for some time now, but had no idea that this one would be such a game changer for me. I straightened my hair for about 15 years until the pandemic, when I decided to let my curly/wavy hair go free because it was getting so long. I've been trying many styling techniques over the past 2 years with inconsistent results. After following the tips in this video, my hair looks freaking amazing with lovely ringlets and virtually no frizz at all! Thank you so much for all your helpful advice and demonstrations.

Great to hear your iron is back to normal! Mine is now too, we started taking supplements about the same time lol. Last wash I used that exact same styling combo of curlsmith protein cream and then I used the in shower style fixer gel which is similar to that shine gel, so snap again 😄 I've sent your channel link to that company I mentioned before as their stuff has made a huge difference to my low density hair after just one use, its seems like magic, it would be great to see what you think too. Thanks for the awesome frizz tips! Great video as always 🙏🥰

The illness induced spikey thing hair is real. Then there is next level after something like Covid. Half my hair is about 2 inches long. Watered down gel controls the top of my head. My hairline can be whack. But I’m still resisting getting another pixie cut.

Same! I had covid plus a severe iron deficiency

So true. I lost a ton of hair after a bowel surgery. I had low iron too. I had a line of 3” hairs. I had to cut my long hair up short. I was mad about that.

Thanks! I would recommend pairing the Shine Gel with the Shine Cream actually 😊 I mentioned this in the video because I think it's a better combo than the 2 I used here.

Hi Gena, for styling when would you use a thickening spray? Would it be after you apply leave in conditioner and styling foam (i have fine curly/wavy hair)

Hi Gena! Recently I broke my wrist, and now I'm in a cast. I was wondering if you have any ideas for tips to make washing/styling a little easier when you can only use one (non-dominant) hand?
@GenaMarie2 жыл бұрын
Get well soon! That must be tough! The rake and shake method may work, or simply raking in product and scrunching with one hand.

Hood dryer and hammock drying very helpful with one hand.

Idk what to do with my hair anymore. It's still very thick and curly but I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and now it's dryer and I have alot if breakage and is very frizzy. I dont know what to do about the frizz and it has thinned a little. Any suggestions?

Hi Gena!! Thank you for this video I struggle with frizz like crazy! Especially in the summer of course. On a somewhat unrelated note- I’m in the market for a new blow dryer/diffuser and really wanted something that has been “curly girl approved” by someone with beautiful curly hair like yourself. Do you think the curlsmith one cuts down on dry time? that’s my number one thing I’m looking for next to low damage. Thank you if you happen to read and respond to this :’)
@GenaMarie2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it does reduce dry time for me because it's so large so covers more at once . I reviewed it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h4jCZoqYbLqqbq8
