In this video, we will go over how to properly tape 4 vertical beveled ends (machined end) of the drywall, commonly known as "FLATS".
"FLATS" can be vertical or horizontal depending on how the drywall is installed. Both ways are commonly used by drywallers.
When I tape "FLATS", I will make it a habit to fill in the beveled end right away. This helps with the next coat (2nd coat) as the next coat is less likely to shrink into the bevel if the bevel is already filled. The mud will "shrink" because the water in the mud dries out.
Keep in mind: I emphasize on using lots of mud to avoid bubbles behind the tape and makes sure to clean up any excess mud on the walls.
I hope this helps, tape on!
