Im gonna be honest, I've been tattooing a long time, self taught, never consistent, sometimes there's a break of a year or 3 lol. I do tattoos for friends and family who like my art work. The depth in which you explain things is phenomenal! I've always wanted to make a career out of tattooing but with 4 kids it's to hard to take an apprenticeship. Thank you for being real and trying to help ppl learn, you're awesome bro!

Hey man just curious is it really that important in regards of witch way your pulling your line and what way your machine is facing? Seems like you were preaching it in video one but I notice in video two you weren’t really following that method?
@333funkymunky
@333funkymunky 5 ай бұрын
Did u ever figure out the answer? I find that when my machine is tilted in a different direction than the line im doing it sort of drags itself in that direction instead of doing what i want it to do. Sometimes I can’t get my hand in a comfortable position where i can control it properly in the line direction without rubbing all over the stencil

He did the same thing in regards to the angle the needle enters the skin at for the straight lines video
@martinrhyne250
@martinrhyne250 2 ай бұрын
Not directly from the course. What I know on the subject. Your needles are designed to ride in the back of the tube tip. If you keep your machine running forward it keeps the needles planted on the back of the tube. If you pull it against this it tends to lift from the tube and you'll have needle wander. On fake skin you can lay a paper towel over the stencil and rest your hand on the paper towel. Use care not to move the towel as it can wipe against the stencil. If you keep consistent with speed and understand it will wander a bit you can use it for certain effects. You can also keep consistent and use the machine backwards or sideways even if your not outrunning the machine.

Hi Ben, Thank you very much for the quality of your tutorials and your advices. I was wondering about the strokes from B to C and from D to A. Isn’t there a risk that the ink will come out of the stencil line by going from left to right rather than pushing the machine or pulling it (11:19)? Sorry I’m not an english native speaker so maybe you explained it and I missed the information. Thank you
@BenFisherOfficial
@BenFisherOfficial Жыл бұрын
Yes so the ink would be ever so slightly above the line. This is so small of a difference but I mention it in great deal as so people understand which as you pointed it out you clearly do so well done. As long as it’s consistent throughout then it will be 100% fine

Hey Ben! I have heard the advice to move your arm and not your fingers/wrists, but I have also heard to lock your elbow to your abdomen to keep it steady. I have a problem doing both at the same time! Do you have any tips or advice on which technique I should be prioritizing first?

Hi Ben, I have a question. I understand the 3 point stretch but I’ve seen people say to pop a little inkeeze on the side of your tattooing hand, to help your hand glide over the skin easier ( if moving your arm instead of your fingers to control the machine. So you can keep the needle the same in the skin and have more control. I hope that make sense) but then I can’t get a good stretch with that hand because it’s slippy. Do you have any advice on how to grip it better if using a lubricant to help glide x

Should I go the opposite direction? I'm right handed and you being left..it seems that impacts my machine direction
@martatuminska6772
@martatuminska6772 Жыл бұрын
what I understood the needle should go straight to the skin with the angle 90... then the deposit of the ink is exactly where we out the needle... but when you are practising small squares I see that the machine and needle are not in the 90 angle... 🤔 is it not the mistake what you explain to avoid.. sorry for the question I'm super fresh and trying to understand every step .

Please listen to the videos again. I say in the perfect situation thats what we should aim to do however thats not always the case. The main thing is you understand how with can cause a small effect to how the ink enters the skin. Just the fact you have picked up on this is a good thing because it shows your watching and noticing things. Well done buddy but yes it’s not something thats a 100% rule.

At 11:15 you are tattooing exactly how you just told people not to tattoo. your needle is not at 90° and not going in the direction of the line either. You are holding your gun at about a 40° angle. I've been following your tutorials and plan on practicing with then on my fake skin but as you just demonstrated, even as a pro you are still making the mistakes amateurs make.
@BenFisherOfficial
@BenFisherOfficial Жыл бұрын
Re listen and re listen to previous video. That is the ideal position but not always comfortable. It’s more to make you aware the when doing it how I show the the entry point and place the ink is deposited will be slightly different
@PINACI
@PINACI Жыл бұрын
@@BenFisherOfficial Yes I watched your previous videos and in them you state that if you can't go in the direction of the line then to re-angle your needle to a 90° position so the ink goes straight down into the dermis rather than to either side of the line. Anyway, my biggest difficulty at the moment is keeping the needle at the correct depth. I don't want to learn by riding the tube so am sticking my needle out about 3-4mm and trying to go no further than 1.5-2mm., not easy ATM but might get better now I'm following your tutorials.
