What I like about you with horses is you know what the horse does naturally and why. So tricks are broken down into movements that the horse does naturally. You give the horse time to understand and most important give the horse a “rest” period 😊

I subscribed and hit the bell. I am just now realizing the things I have been doing with horses is basically liberty work. I thought I was just playing with horses but ppl say it’s a gift to approach a horse I never met and that horse will do anything I ask with no rope. I don’t own a horse but have access to a bunch of them. Recently someone asked me to work with his dads horse as he has fallen I’ll and can’t handle the lead rope. I declined because I’m no trainer or anything. I just really enjoy horses. He assured me he has been watching me with the horses and needs his dads horse to respond the same. So when I went to work with her, ppl were filming it and advised I should look into making a living of this. So here I am reading, watching and learning everything I can. I have just watched a few of your videos and want to say thank you for sharing. It means a lot to those looking to work with horses for a living. Any advice you may have or anyone reading this, I ask you to please share. That kind you all and God bless

You can do everything you are teaching after sweating the horse , after you unsaddle the horse , leave the halter on ,take the horse where he likes to roll , if he will lay down with you beside him , that means he's not afraid of you, a horse will not lay down for you even if he knows what you want if he's afraid, instinctive fear . Keep training the people your an excellent teacher , you can tell you have a real heart for horses❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊 16:08

I'm a Subscript 😃 My first mini has been with me just over two weeks. He has cow hock quite severe. I'm going to be doing my own farrier work within reason. 🙃 He has to be registered in UK before I can take him anywhere, so for the main stay he has access in and out if my home. I've no pastureland and desperate to excersie him so hopefully soon. I've taught him it's OK for me to clean his hoofs already..bit of hothouse as I'm afraid he may have been quite neglected previously. A 8-9 month weanling / coming on yearling... I have built him a wee shelter not stable.. I've used reed privacy screening to tge floor where it could be susceptible to mud. Less mud the better I feel. Incredible patients required and Im glad you've spoke of letting them chill out after some new tricks.

I've always been really interested in liberty teaching for horses, something like this especially. This is a brilliant teaching video where I started on my 4 yr old, within 15 to 20 minutes he was happy picking up all four feet on command with small treat rewards. So now he gets his chill time in the field for the day. Always baby steps 🧡

After watching several of your videos recently, I just subscribed today, Carmella. Liked how you got Tucker to follow your intentions and instructions and lay down with the lunge crop and not the ropes as other channels use. My dad raised Appys and had one that looked like Tucker but with more spotting on the rump. The price ranges for vet bills, farriers, hay, pellets and tack was very helpful. Like you, I go for used tack as it's broken in and more affordable. The happy rose on your left arm is the beauteous emblem for your southernism, "You all." Thanks for a wonderful video and glad to have found it.

I just subscribed because I love the way you teach a horse to sit/lay down. I have a 4.5 y.o. that I am just starting to break. I have worked with him on the ground since I bought him as a foal, but I believe in letting horses become fully developed before breaking him to ride. He is the smartest horse I have ever met. I think your method of teaching how to lay down may resonate with him.

Useful to me. I'm teaching my mule to lie down. I've got the behavior now need to get it on cue. I didn't think about reinforcing getting all four feet close together. Since I'm a dog trainer I can tell you how to keep him down. Get a treat in his mouth before he has a chance to roll! And have him expect that he will get some number between one and maybe three tiny treats in a row so he has to lie there waiting to see. At first give them very quickly and slowly add time in between.

The yawning is a very good example of how teaching your horse to lower his head, as yawning and licking lips are visual signs that the horse is releasing tension and using his brain to learn rather than operating out of prey instincts.
