I was doing this to my baby boy since he was 1 year old and now he is 1 year and 7 months he knows already all the letter sounds, he knows how to count 1-10 and telling over 150 words that we can understand english and Spanish, since his dad is Spanish and I am a Filipina. Thanks to you Judy.

Hi Shirley~ I just finished writing a book about teaching a baby to read from 6 months old. So I was so excited to read your comment about teaching your baby to read! I also said the same method could teach a baby to read Spanish and I plan to translate my book into Spanish. Right now it is not published because I can't figure out how to format it. I know there are videos about how, but I can't understand them.

Thank you so much for this video. I used this video for my two year old and alongside this I read lots of books to her. By four years old she was reading the gruffalo books! Now she easily does her phonics homework as she can read easily. I am now using this method for my three and four year old. I will also use this method on my youngest when he turns two. Thank you so much!!!

Absolutely love this!! I’ve been doing the same with my little one and she’s 3.5yr old. I can tell shes ready to read and well past the first 2 steps. I just didn’t know what to do next. Teaching the vowels is an excellent next step before the books. Love the advice and love seeing another mother who’s as enthusiastic as me to teach their child. Why wait until school!? Thank you a million! I can’t wait to start vowels with her.

true..no joke. With letter sounds my kid was reading at three. Make sure they know the sounds well. This is important and then they will put the blends together. Also can make a book of uppercase letters and have them do the sounds instead of index card.

I'm watching this and my baby is not even borned yet. I'm due in one month.. I was looking for this info because I remember how my mom taught me to read and write in spanish when I was very young, and I will do the same but I didn't know how to teach my kid to read english as this is my second language. Surprisingly, it was extremely similar to how my mom taught me to read spanish. So now, I know what approach to take. Thanks for the video.
@nightangle4763 жыл бұрын
So true dear, my son is just 2 and half years old. He knows all the sounds. It's soo important not to do like teaching sessions for younger kids as they will get bore right away. Rather using various interactive activities such as playing with toys and using letter sounds or tracing on the sand and teaching them, as for kids younger than four is very boring and they will run away. It should be more of interactive learning and not like teaching. Prayers for you 🙏🏼❤️

Thank you so much, my daughter and I would would use these tips when she was 3 as well then when she started school I realized her learning slowed down more. I didn’t notice till she finished kindergarten that year, she is now in first grade and having serious difficulties trying to read. I try my very best to have patience and cool learning habits but it is just so hard now that she is not 3 years old anymore more and her focus is so many other things. What can I do now that she is 6 trying to teach her fun reading habits that can help. An for anyone reading this please don’t stop teaching your children yourself don’t leave it to the school take matters into your own hands and be as hands on as you can. Please help a young father.

Thank you for making this video. Your daughter is absolutely a mini you... Beautiful, & intelligent. She definitely likes to appease you as well... But your method is wonderful in implementing all of the phonetic rules to learning to read.... So yes again Thank you. I am struggling with my daughter learning from me currently and searching for different ways to introduce and establish the baselines for her to be able to comprehend how it all fits together. Reading a teacher of 20 years book was helpful but only to a point... Then it is strictly her engagement and both of our wills. Hope your family and you are well and enjoying some beautifully written literature.
