Mike: you are my savior!! This is exactly the information I needed! I am an English teacher (Cambridge certified) but I am not a graduate of any university and do not have a degree. This is exactly why I didn't get my visa a few years back... I've been seriously considering getting a degree in education with the Open University (part-time online university level course because I already work 6 days a week - so full-time studying isn't really an option for me)... I first have a short-term course to finish (worth 15 credits actually) before I start anything else. I am DEFINITELY going to check out Moreland to see whether I could get this course done. If I get anywhere with all this? Man... I'll buy you and Rose dinner as soon as I land! Thank you ever so much for this one! it's gold and I've saved it!

Go for it! The biggest point to remember is avoid schools that are “international“ and offer an E2 visa. Those are basically hagwons operating as international schools. You won’t get paid less but work more. Not worth it but the company saves money not issuing the correct visa.

Early fam!!! Will keep this in mind just in case. Also, I have a good question! There's not much information about this, but could you do one on investing in South Korea? I had read that the minimum of the investment made into South Korea can be a real estate and a few other qualifiers; for instance having a set amount of an investment for a total of 5 years. I think they give you an F2 first before they give you the F5. Do you think you can find someone and do an interview on this topic?

Thanks for the 꿀 Tips~ I was always wondering about Teach Now. I remember people saying they were struggling to find a place to do their student teaching so that is why I haven't done it. I already have a Master's in Teaching, but I didn't go the certification route because you had to do part of it on their campus which was in Iowa. I'm also not sure if an international school is a route I actually want to go to or can go now with an F visa. However, I would like to increase my coins for the next two years to be able to reach my goal of getting the F5 visa 2 years from October.

Thanks for the information. I'll share this information with some people who are trying to teach in Korea because I think some of them may have gotten swindled. I'll be applying again for International Schools in Korea as a Special Educator/ English Literacy Specialist. I was supposed to have an interview with KIS but due to COVID that was canceled. I went to a job fair/ PD conference for international schools in December. One of the schools offered me a position but after further discussion with the school, I knew it would not be a good fit. It was also suggested that I get a few years of full-time experience/interning before applying. So I'm currently applying for EPIK and from there will apply to international schools. So far I really like Chadwick and St.Johnsbury, so hopefully, they will have positions I can fill by the time I apply. Again thanks for the encouragement & info!

I think I would really like living in Korea, but I hear Korean airlines treat you like Chinese Airlines, except without the pay. AKA Korean pilots work hard in (maybe) abusive work environments for low pay. That's the draw of Chinese Airlines. Yes you will be worked like a dog, and often yelled at, but to make up for it your starting pay can be $350K USD.....I would rather work for lower pay at a place I enjoy and feel appreciated. My current airline really appreciates it's pilots and treats us really well, but the starting pay is only $65K. BIG difference in pay between Canada & China
