How to Teach Remotely with Padlet//Padlet is an amazing online teaching app for Ells for student collaboration in the classroom. Padlet is used by many classrooms because it allows teachers to share information like class assignments, links to videos, graphic organizers, educational websites, polls, and so much more. This video is to show you how to use padlet and its functions to facilitate collaboration in your class through a padlet tutorial. How to teach remotely with the Padlet app is simple. First of all, there are 8 design templates you can use depending on what type of Padlet you are intending to set up for your students. I will walk you through how to set up your first padlet, use an existing template and posts to edit for your personal use, add links to other websites, graphics, worksheets, and videos. Padlet is a one stop shop to foster the type of student collaboration that helps language learners practice skills through listening, speaking, reading and writing. Below I have listed links to other sites that provides more ideas on how you can use Padlet for your students as an online teaching app for ells.

GET OUT OF TOWN! I was just searching for different video tutorials on using digital tools for remote learning. I am assigning them to my students to have them create a short review and make suggestions for our class for the rest of the year now that we are closed through June. And who should I see on my screen??? Nice to "see" you again Sandra. I can't believe how long it's been. When you knew me, my last name was Livingston. But I'm sure you can't forget our Hernández years with Margarita. Great channel, lady! Abrazos, Melanie

I love this video! I have never heard of this app before because our school district uses google classroom for the major platform in all grade levels. Can you tell me what the difference is between google classroom and using padlet as far as ESL goes? I would love to bring this before the district to see if it could be implemented.

Thank you so much for watching. ❤️Google classroom is simply a holding place for you to list assignments and it makes it easy to grade assignments too. I love that it's free. Padlet is a virtual bulletin board or discussion board. You can link padet in your Google classroom so your students know where to go. You can think of Google classroom as a hub or central meeting spot where you can direct your students to other places from there. I hope that makes sense.

@media club, Hello and thank you for watching my video. Yes, that is a great idea. You can have them write answers to response questions, start a poll, post different still images of clips and have then answer a true/false questions for each clip. I think that is a fantastic idea for your students. How old are your students?

Hello! Thank you for watching. After you give them the code to enter your padlet, they can add a response within the padlet just as if you were on Facebook. It's a very intuitive platform. Please let me know if that helps. 😊

Thank you for your reply. I'm just now seeing it!😭 I created many Padlet pages during the weeks of online teaching recently. I didn't use any code (I didn't see where to send such info). I just added a hyperlink for each Padlet to my website for the students to access. They double clicked and added their response, video, audio or picture. It worked pretty well once they for the hang of it.

@TheLanguageLady

Hi Amy! You can add it as a link that will take students directly to Good Read Write. However, since it a chrome extension I would imagine that it would work unless it only supports Google based apps such as google docs.

Being Puerto Rican, how do strategies differ between teaching here versus teaching students in Puerto Rico?
@TheLanguageLady
@TheLanguageLady 4 жыл бұрын
That is a great question. Since Puerto Rico is a US territory, they use similar resources. I would be interested, however, in finding out if they have an island strategy that is not typically used on the mainland US.
