Just Titled in Advanced. I think I may be addicted to Rally :). So glad I found you. I love your advice and have started working on the new signs. Thanks

It's easy to fall in love with dog sports when you love your dog!

I love watching you with your Corgis! I’m getting ready to start rally classes. I have “heel” down. But I’ve accidentally trained my girl to automatically sit when I stop walking when I’m a heel position. How can I train this out of her?

I love your ideas and presentation. I have a border collie, and she’s focused and quick when I have a treat with me. But when we go to competition , you would think it’s the most boring thing in the world to her. We just got her Excellent title, and are ready to start working on the RACH. Any suggestions for making this more exciting and engaging for her. I am kind of stiff in the ring. I know I need to loosen up. I think it’s nerves 😊. Thanks for any advice you can think of.

Any pointers on transitioning from treat use to not using treats in competition??

Do you have a suggestion for stay stand then downs at a distance? My dog tends to inch forward. I have platforms that I have been training with. That or other ideas would be nice.😊

Hi Mel! It's a very common problem! I've trained a dog with this issue and did a couple things: First, I trained a "back down" behavior, meaning they fold down with their momentum going backward rather than stretching their front legs out into a forward-moving down. Second, I practice with a broad jump board in front of them to discourage the forward momentum and create muscle memory for that folding down motion. Third, I set up treats behind them in training when I leave and then once they do the down on cue, I release them to their reinforcement. Maybe I'll make a video about this! I think it would be easier to understand visually. Thanks for watching!

I just use signals for the spins since you start out teaching with the signal anyway.
