Super helpful. I'm not even using the R series, but my rhodia pads were tearing off really badly. This helped. The biggest key, I think, is to hold the top-left corner of the binding tightly. Otherwise, I think it curls up off the pad a little. Glad I found this video!

I did it perfect by accident one time and I tried to do it again but I couldn't do it and that irritated me a lot so I came to this video and it helped me out a lot. *Thank You*

Any tips for long edge bound Rhodia, aka Side Notebook?

Since I put much effort into writing letters, I use only the best fountain pen friendly paper: Tomoe River. I buy it as single sheets, unbound so every sheet is perfect. My letters deserve a quality nib writing with a quality ink on a quality paper. And, my penmanship rises to the challenge and looks better, too. I’m sure you’ll agree since this follows your philosophy.

Who was that beautiful note pad from in the beginning of the video? I hope it's available in the US! My wife brought me some Starcraft note pads the other day that have been messing with my life ever since....pretty sure it's a sign she is looking for a way out of this marriage....

Total Bullshit. I've attempted your technique with five different brands and it doesn't work.

I have to say that I am feeling disappointed. I would like more efficiency and ease of use. I just purchased my first Rhodia pad. I liked the quality of the paper, the graph ruling, and the price. I didn’t foresee, though, how awkward it would be to write on the backs of the pages. It would seem to be impossible to write on the backs unless you tear the pages out of the notepad. You could then write on the back of the pages but without any support from the notepad. That would be difficult if you are out and about. The only workaround I can think of would be to tear the pages out, punch mushroom-shaped holes in the paper, then insert the pages in a discbound notebook and use both sides of the page. This solution seems cumbersome to me, but I can’t think of any other way to handle the matter. I am on my first page and not looking forward to using this solution for the duration of the life of the notepad. I like the quality of this paper, but it is unlikely that I will purchase this type of pad again.
